Great setup. Well thought out and efficient in its design. I’m not usually one to be overly critical about other people’s setups, but I’ve never understood why people put bumper jacks on the roof instead of the rear or front.

Those are some great looking FJ’s! I can’t wait to have the opportunity to modify my stock FJ into similar builds like those. Glad to hear them running the Toytec lifts, but I’m surprised they are running the (what seems to be) stock upper control arms. I didn’t know the fact about the 4Runner alternator, so I’ll have to do that if mine ever goes out. Great Video!

The UCAs are SPC on both rigs, I just forgot to mention that when was talking about the suspension. As for the alt, not all 4runners got the 130apm one, look for trail edition.

The FJ Cruiser is like a raised up station wagon with 4WD capabilities! Yes; its reliable and dependable, however; has terrible flex and articulation off road. More difficult to drive on uneven trails with camper, you have to choose your line very carefully to keep all wheels on the dirt!

The 2nd guy was running Nitto Trail Grapplers. GREAT tires for wheeling! I ran those for 50K miles and switched to the new Ridge Grapplers. They are great on the road and great on the trail so far. I'll be doing some harder wheeling come May, but the rocks and mud I ran recently were no match for them.

Tires are Cooper STT PROs, I have it for about 20k, best tire I have ever had. The noise is there but you would expect more with such aggressive tire and the grip is excellent! Wheels are Level 8 Tracker PRO, 16x8.5 with -6 offset. love it! If you are looking into re-gearing and 35s I suggest to do some reading on the forum, lots of data... Good luck!

swaybar disconnects, it works great but to pin it back is a PITA, you must be on the leveled ground and work it a little. Still recommended if you ask me, I have a video if it in action on my youtube. If interested find me on my Instagram "genafj" I will direct you to the guy.

  • @gammaboxer9765

If this isn't being rude, I have them installed on mine and when disconnected there is def a difference. He's right getting them back in is a huge PITA and when the pins are out there is a constant squeak coming from them (on mine anyway) constantly which i found to be very annoying. My next mod is to just remove both front and rear sway bars and see how it handles. If you're at all thinking about them, consider getting the rear sway bar extension links also. This is one mod i should have sprung for. Hope this helps and isn't taken as rude or intrusive on the previous answer given by Gene Rashkovan. Cheers
