Hey great video, would you Please do a tutorial on how to use the L22 sphere with the uad console and route it to daw perfectly. Very confusing stuff and I’m desperate. Used more basic methods in the past. Fl studio does not always pickup the recording and in a weird way I feel like I don’t understand anything.

Hey Zak, thanks! I’m planning on doing one soon. They’ve just been out of stock for a while. I think I should be able to get my hands on one in a few weeks. I know a lot of people have questions on them so it’s high on my priority list.

Appreciate all the great info! I was wondering, I have a MacBook Air M1 with 8GBs and 512 storage, and a 16” Intel MBP with 16 ram, i9, and 1TB. If you were to decide which of these laptops to dedicate for recording which would you choose. I’m fascinated that the Air doesn’t have fans but maybe the fans on the 16” wouldn’t ramp up anyway. I’m interested in recording singer/ songwriter acoustic guitar and vocal. Thanks so much!

I have a 16” i9 and the fans are always going crazy with almost no load. I’d suggest the M1 for that reason. My M1 8gb Mac mini was really an amazing setup. It may not work well for massive sessions with VI’s, but I’ve run some large sessions on one without issues.

An M1 w/16 GB of Ram performs almost as well as a normal computer with 32gb. Luckily, I believe Apple is going to release an M1x soon with more cores and 32gb of RAM.

@@nobodyhome3753 I run A LOT of NI stuff on my 2018 i7 16gb RAM Mac mini and it’s a beast. Then again I store everything on a super fast external SSD so that likely helps overall performance.

@@pandemic7 Great point! You'd have to have a pretty massive Kontakt Library/Libraries going to burn though 16GB of RAM. It is possible which is why 32GB is ideal. But with Solid State Drives at play and Thunderbolt you can move things in and out of RAM more and still expect rock solid performance.

I feel like the multi-monitor performance is good in the new M1 Max processors, but gaming won’t probably be great unfortunately. That said, it’s really hard to beat for audio and video production without the hassles that a PC brings.

2012 Mac Pro 5.1 with dual 6 core processors, 96Gb RAM, 8Gb video cards and space for 5 drives (10Tb) off eBay for $1k vs a $10k new machine? Hmmm . sometimes newer isn't better. (Unless I win a spare 10k somewhere LOL)

Can only be upgraded to a 2018 MacOS so newer SW, FW, & HW isn’t compatible. Which for some is perfect cuz they like to lock their machine & not worry about updates

Yeah, totally! However, there is a large group of people out there who aren’t comfortable with that. Also, knowing about which chipset is optimal for audio drivers is also important. Tech people like you and I may be comfortable with that, but there’s a large subset of people who wouldn’t be able to pull it off. Good suggestion though!
