Great video...it's, indeed, very informative.. @Pragmatic Work -. Can you plz make a video on the issue we experience while picking up DATE to edit form from Excel online (for business). The date picker simply goes blank and it doesn't pick up date from Excel table (date column) while other details from the table appear correctly. Any get around will help many of the people. I got the same issue posted by someone on powerplatform community but none of the answers fixed the issue..

Hi Pragmatic Works, I've got an Excel spreadsheet which has a column of weblinks. But when I've connected via Powerapps, the URLs aren't live, they are just text and can't be clicked and don't link.

I have shifted my excel file from OneDrive to Sharepoint communication site in documents folder. Now I need to update the Data sources for my PowerApps, to point to the excel file table in sharepoint. How do I do it ?

great tutorial I was able to follow through and build out an app! but I have run into a problem I cant seem to figure out. My form was working fine until randomly one day, without giving me an error, it started to blank out a few fields in excel. Basically what is happening is that certain dropdowns on my form, though filled out in the form, are not being onto excel. These fields though filled on the powerapps form are showing up as blanks on the excel sheet hosted on OneDrive. I checked the update property of these fields and they are fine but no data to show in the excel record. These are about 3-4 dropdowns only, the rest of the dropdowns on the form populate just fine and the form does not give me any error. Super confused and cant find any info online to help me out. Thanks anyone kind enough to be able to help me out here.

Hello, thank you for this excellent video! But i have a question for you. On my OneDrive i have prepared excel file (as you). I build an app and i can add and edit information (forms) in this excel so on my phone it works very well. I shared this app with my friend. He can open app, browse information that i put before but the problem is he cannot submit any new form! Errors like "Failed to read metadata from file source" even if i shared this file in onedrive in several ways. Could you give me some advice? thank you!

Hello!! I hope you're fine! I'm creating an app (Canvas), but i do not know how to show only a week, for example, i have a lot information in the same week (5 rows), but what a need is, show only, for example, Week 25 and then, after click in the option, will show all inserts of this week. What a have now is, ex. Week 25, 25, 25, 25, 25, 26, 25 etc... not , 25, 26, 27 etc... i was unable to find any info about this. Many thanks for you help :)

When creating a new employee, if I take the last employeeid and add 1 - is this controlling the sequence of the insert to the degree that if someone else was running the same operation there would not be a possibility of an ID collision ?

Hi @Michael, good point! I think I even warned in the video about your statement there too. For Excel, you can absolutely risk a collision if multiple people have that screen at the same time open. That said, Excel would also likely giving you a sharing violation error. That's why it would likely make sense to use SharePoint or SQL Server instead and use their autonumber functions like Identity.

Could you post an updated video on this. The option to "start from data" is no longer available and I cannot proceed to step two.

I just double-checked and it is still there. Make sure you go to make.poweapps.com to see that option. You'll then select Excel Online.

You'll find the Power Apps app in the Play store. Once you install it, your app you built will show up after you sign in.

What to do if I don't want to share the excel file where data is stored? I mean like users enter in a form type of thing and data is stored like you showed. But raw data file remains unshared to avoid data Manipulation later

Hi, is there any limitations to store data in excel using Poweraaps? I have created a form using Poweraaps n storing the input in excel. I read the interface can get/read only maximum 2000 records, my question is using form can we add more than 2000 form responses ? I can download the Excel file from Onedrive n analyse the report.

The 2000 record you're referring to is for delegation (when it can't figure out how to query the system). You're only limitted by the number of rows that are in your system.

You would just import each sheet in the connectors area. To update both sheets at the same time you can use SubmitForm or Patch

That's due to a delegation error likely. Something in your code is not parsing. You can changing your delegation setting under File --> Settings --> Advanced Settings but you want to fix the code likely so it doesn't cause that.

How did you make the tablet version of the app?

It operates much the same way as Excel in Onedrive where you can have multiple editors. The last in wins. That said, it sometimes leads to errors and that's why you may want to consiider SharePoint or SQL Server.

There is a distinct clause inside of Power Apps but if the data is in SQL Server, you would likely want to build a view that did that grouping of data there instead.

You can go to File --> Setting --> Screen Layout Orientation. There you can change how it's sized but if you built the app with a wizard, the options you see here might be more limited.
