HTTP 203 is back! My plan in the post-Surma world is to get different guests in for each block of episodes. Me & Ada recorded 4 episodes, after that it'll be a different guest (but I imagine Ada will be back at some point, I don't have that many friends)

I love this episode. The Surma tribute was great, Ada was great and as a total WebXR noob, I found it very interesting too. I'm excited to see the topics you'll be covering with future guests!

Hi Ada, How does WebGPU fit into WEBXR,etc? For AR what's the bare minimum in handset hardware for consumers? and to do development? VR always comes and goes as a fad moreso in webland, is this going to remain a web-dev niche , or is support trending enough that this decade making a AR-fullscreen version of a website could become as common as it nows to build sites to be responsive? And for 11:30 about fullscreen html context for AR headsets - is there any work being done on that as a concept? Wouldn't AR "fullscreen" either just be pinning things to the skybox, or to the users viewport with or w/o eyetracking "ironman HUD".

@Paul Newton it will work with WebGPU. Min hardware for AR is an Android handset that can install AR Core Support on Android is pretty wide. iOS looks promising, support on headsets is common aside from PSVR. As far as It's ready to be used today but I don't think websites should replace themselves with WebXR/WebGL content, it doesn't make sense, instead they should augment their site to take advantage of the hardware when it is available and makes sense in the context. I.e. being able to view an AR version of a real object alongside the article of something related to it. Regarding HTML content on AR headsets a different approach is being looked at.

As someone with a Samsung: Why is Samsung Internet?
@AdaRoseCannon

@@SimonBuchanNz we can optimise for Samsung hardware for things like battery life and integrate with Samsung utilities like Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass. We can also prioritise features that match Samsung's values, such as security and privacy and giving the powers of customisation to the users.
Thank you for being so gentle with Surma2.0 🥰
Perfect opener. Glad you’re back!
Will miss Surma in HTTP203. You guys just harmonized so well. Anyways, your guest Ada was great, looking forward for the next episodes! Missing Surma in the comment section ;)
Holy crap, the intro is hilarious... totally worth filming all morning for a single minute clip. 😂 It had me cackling, lol. "Shhh, you're safe with me"
This was delightful, thank you for the overview
loved the AR demo with real-life light adjustment
Loved this interview - for me, it was a great review of A-Frame - something I've started teaching to my students!
I was also at uni back then and I also did a unit on VRML! Those were the days my friend…
HAHAAH lol the start was more fun than I could imagine
I love how you guys make these videos funny for us nerds lol.

literally laughed out loud with the opening skit XD
Man, I'd love to play around with this!
Thanks Ada! Now i know what `hide-on-ar` component does :)
A-frame is impressive and can even do AR in iOS. I just want safari to pick up WebXR properly so I can use Babylon with it.

Wait, A-Frame can do AR in iOS? But what type of AR? Markerless?
This was very interesting! I would also be curious to see the native JavaScript APIs that would detect devices and hand gestures, etc.
This video is only 50% complete without a picture-in-picture of a reaction-cam of Surma watching this opener at home.
Welcome Ada 🙌 Thanks for showing us this stuff 🙂
Welcome Ada, please come back. Also, has anyone worked out how you could implement an MMO in A-Frame?

I've been working on a opensource framework called Papyrus3D which might be a start for crrating something like an mmo with Aframe. I have some vids on it on my channel if you are interested. Its stilk under dev but has a map editor and working on NPC's. Already supports doors / keys and dialogues.
I like how Jake wore a Beat Saber shirt for the VR episode
Ah I missed you Jake
Great show 😎👍 Love WebXR. Love Aframe. [C’mon Safari, keep up! Pleeeeeeeeeeease]
Awesome)))
Kudos to Ada. I imagine it must have been a bit terrifying to step into Surma's shoes.
11:02 & 12:40 read hex - there's a "hexinvaders" game as quick way to build a _tiny_ bit of color codes intuition. But then again I still mix up #000 and #FFF, we just need color swatches in all software anytime there's a hexcode
That intro broke me... xD
Interesting! For some reason I thought the X stood for eXperience.
As a Jake's fan, I don't care much whom he is paired with, I know they'll be just as fun
Welcome back
Hang on a minute. A-Frame has WebXR compatibility?! I thought it still just had marker-based AR? Can somebody fill me in?
can u also use css color functions ? like gradient
