Building the Wood Shed Part 2

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I have enclosed the southernmost structural bay of the wood storage shed that I built last Fall. I enclosed this bay by wrapping it with corrugated metal roofing material. I also added shelves to the inside and a big sliding door to get in and out. The idea is to store the smaller pieces of wood from the wood shop so I am not tripping over them in the shop. One of the big ideas for this project was to buy as little new material as possible so most of what I used was scrounged from older projects.

I really like that you actually scrounged around to find wood so you didn't have to buy anything.... like the rest of us right now. Not just going out and spending money to get it done and make a video.

Lately I've been missing my Grandpa like crazy, he worked with timber and made so many things for his house and family and friends. He's been gone 18 years but there's so many conversations I wish I could have with him. I love watching woodworking videos and I hope one day to have my own little shop. Suffice to say, I can't like your videos enough!

No matter what I have, if I see something I love, I have to have it, and no matter how many sets of shelves there are, there's always a pile of wood in every corner! I hope you and your family are doing well, and look forward to whatever you come up with next.

I have interacted with several structures that I could tell were assembled from other prior structures and it's always fun to try to guess what the various parts used to be. I think it gives the most recent re-use of material such an interesting character. It's just a shed. But it's a shed with a story.

Congratulations on using old plywood and recycling the redundant play-structure now that your children have outgrown it, plus recycling those former storage shelves and that pine fron your friend's home. I am wondering when the lumber iundustry will wake up to the fact that it's current high prices are resulting in customer resistence to buying its products? I really love your modesty about getting things right on your projects. The closing scene of your safe and tidy workshop and the neat interior of the enclosed storage shed area deserves a good pat on the back. There's so much satisfaction in cleaning up clutter.
