Very nice work 👏 👍 👌
Great to see you back clay. Keep the videos coming brother!
I’m going to start my 4th modified kit, so I’m going back to your video, as a refresher. That’s so it’ll help things go smoothly. Thanks a bunch for your help. It really keeps me inspired. I’ve got seven more to go, and your videos keep me motivated, even though, sometimes I wanna do something else. I do really love these modifieds! I’ve got a bunch of the old MPC, and AMT kits, but these Wes’s kits are just beautiful when they’re done. I have considered getting one of those Hurrd kits, but they are expensive. I’m considering getting some parts from them, cause of their accuracy

I've purchased a Hurd Hobbies kit. They are very accurate depiction of a current modified car. And the fit is better. It's a different material to work with though. Gotta be extra careful with using your #11 knife to clean up nubs and lines. Use sanding sticks instead. Good luck.
Looking awesome Clay. I have mine about half way done. Ron

That stuff dries super fast!! I only use it after I've applied my Tamiya glue. I use it to strengthen it. But only a light coat.

I'm a big fan of your builds. Need more, more. This is coming along nicely.
I always love it when one of The Good Modelers uses something obscure like you do, in this case, Plastruct Cement. I've been using this forever and, even though it's not as good as when it contained formaldehyde, it's still one of my go-to's. And I REALLY like how you use the supplied brush-in cap instead of some trick "glue applicator"!
Cool video. I've seen builds of these kits, but never one that started from the unboxing. Thank you for the review as this helps make decisions on whether to pick this kit up or not. Nicely done.

Very glad to see you build this kit! I built my Bret Meyers version and I was disappointed with how it went together. Watching you put yours together give me renewed reason to try again! I only partially built mine before painting, it went together well, but things did not fit so great once painted. I was thinking, building it in the sequence you built yours would be the best way to put the frame together. Nice job and thanks for putting this out

Thanks Clay. I’ve read alot of the complaints about this kit and consider myself a decent modeler but man this really helps so much. Thanks for taking the time to do this!
Of the building vehicles, most of my life went to airplanes and armor. This might bring me back over the vehicles too bad I can’t find these kids anyway.
Hi, Clay. If I ever get around to building mine, it’ll look like a pile of rubble next to your Taj Mahal. But that’s okay. Right now it sure looks good in its box on the shelf. Just in case, that Plastruct? That’s methyl ethyl ketone, and instead of spending $9.99 on a bottle, you can go to your hardware store, buy a can of it for $5.99, and refill your bottle many times. I look forward to seeing more of your build.

Thanks for the tip! Will come in handy since I seem to knock this bottle over all the time!
Great job mate, so helpful. How far away is part 2 mate?
Clay, i know your right busy but i sure wish you would do a step by step complete build. In thisa video i would have only let the front rack off
The modified as well as the Cup kits all suggest using a .040 drill bit in a pin vise in the instructions .But the instructions never say where this drilling is required. It must be where this guy, in the beginning of this video, opens up the holes in the chassis, prior to assembly. Gotta be.
I have a question. I noticed that you are using the quite large applicator brush for applying your liquid cement. Obviously, some of the cement is getting put in areas that are beyond the point of contact. Does primer and paint coats hide these areas? If you look at bare plastic, you can see the shiny areas where the liquid cement was.
When will part 2 be completed? 🙏🏽
Hey Clay im sure your a busy guy but was wondering when part 2 of the modified build would be out

It is a dual action "MASTER" brand I got off of ebay. Pretty reasonably priced, and so far has worked great.
Is the Tamiya paint ready to spray or do you thin it?
What is that sprayer? Where does it come from, and do i need special paint
Hey Clay, how well does the Plastructs plastic weld work? Whats the drying time on it?
@ClayKemp
Жыл бұрын
It is all I use for bare plastic when assembling kits, or for scratch building with Evergreen stryrene. It dries really quick, but in general will melt the joint making for a quick strong bond.
I would love to build this kit... If I could obtain one. Why they shorted us is beyond me. I too am hooked on those Tamiya LP paints. They are dry in 4 hours.

"Thanks" so much Clay. Ive got a Quick Question for you. Where are you getting Your Finger Drills from. Shoot me a link IF you have one. I got 3 sets on Amazon (different sellers each) and even when I AM Careful (2nd and 3rd set) haha _ They don't do anything but Snap and Break the Bit. Even after I chucked them into a Pin Vise just to be sure I was being careful with no wobble. Where are you getting your's and could you shoot me a link.
