Nice work. When using plaster or sculptamold, I've found it easiest to mix some gray paint in plaster and water mux. That gives you a nice base color to keep working from. Also, if you were to chip a piece off the terrain you won't end up with ugly, white parts. Then just use brown, gray and black washes, and some white dry brushing on the edges. I did this thing a while ago, just to try out some techniques, and it turned out ok. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nHmb2bmPnJmpnKQ.html

I tried messing around with brown but I just couldn’t get the colors to look right on the rocks I might try that again when I expand this course some! That’s a good idea to mix it into the plaster I didn’t even think of that

@@rockyrc I didn't think to mix the paint in the plaster at first either, but once I figured that out, it was nice having amore rock like base color. With the brown, and other colors, dont' use the directly on the terrain. First, make a base color, like in the plaster, then use paint washes. Mix a few drops of paint on some water, so it's basically just colored water. Put it on with a sponge or broad brus. It'll just add verys light gradients of color to the terrain, and make it more natural looking. The base color will still shine through, a lot. I start with a brown wash, then a black wash. Some times several rounds of each. The base color will still be the main color, it will just be more, I guess, varied. Once that dries, and your happy with how it looks, dry brush with a light gray or white on edges to make them pop a bit more, and get more contrast.
