You should try to stagger them, then you will pretty much 1 hit kill them :) Also Use CTRL + click to drop items faster. If you want to stop them to go over the stone bridge completely you could remove some stones in the middle of the bridge and put the 1m wooden poles in like a square mesh small enough so you can cross, and the mobs cant cross it at all.

Yeah staggering is good for it, I just need to work on my timing. Ahh CTRL + click is good, I didn't know that, makes my life a lot easier now. Yeah could do, but its fun having them actually attack the gate, plus it looks better all solid.
Been waiting for that bridge on the river Kwai moment ever since I realized you two weren't going to sacrifice aesthetics for safety - and why would you, that would be boring! 😁😂👍
