Dude I’ve been following you for several years. Helped me out a lot with trapping. I’ve told myself I was gonna make these jugs for 3 years now. Finally looked this up again and gonna follow thru. Also, I loved the part when ya said “once you cl get good at tying this knot, you can leave a very minimal tag line…IF YOURE INTO THAT SORTA THING”

Three things about jug fishing.....and I have jug fished for many, many years. 1) Always - Always use a circle hook. 2) Do not fish to close to the bottom like he is saying, A fish needs room to pull the bait down to set the hook. If you fish to close to the bottom your jugs become ineffective as the fish cannot set the hook on itself, and/or they may swallow the bait, then you cannot let the smaller fish go. 3) The more buoyant the float is, the stronger the hook set will be on the fish.

Let's say you're fishing a river that averages 20 feet deep in the channel, what depth do you like to set your juglines, I don't have a lot of experience with jugs, but I was always under the impression you run pretty shallow?

Made a dozen of these and they are great. They were easy to make and the ease of adjusting them helps alot as I run them from a kayak. Best tip is snelling the circle hook. Once the fish is on, it's not getting off.

I really enjoy your videos. For the last 5 years have been a salt water kayak angler on the west coast. Halibut, Lingcod, and Rockfish are the major catches within reach of a kayak. I am going to be in Southern Missouri in a few months so I am finding your videos extremely fascinating. Very thorough. You are a good teacher.

Thanks for making this tutorial, once again very informative. I'll be making these this weekend. As I stated in my comment on the jug fishing video, I've never jugged, trotlined, or limblined. A tutorial on when, where, and how covering the 3 would be a very interesting video I believe. Thanks again for the informative videos.
