Building the Ultimate CAR GUY Desktop for 3D Scanning - PARTS LIST LINKS

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I have been needing to upgrade my desktop for a very long time and the time has finally come to build a workhorse of a computer to be able to game and do CAD without any issues.

    Now that you've got your computer sorted, hopefully we'll see a lot more of your projects making progress.

    "Dave" 'this is the most expensive computer I have ever built." So the whole time I was like where is the anti-static mat with the anti-static wristband connected to the mat and the mat connected to earth? Anyone else?

    Also a $10 cpu contact frame will drop temps and avoid cpu warping. I used one for my 13900k and it idles at 26c

    You say your old gou wasn't staying cool. that may have been contributing to the crashes. You can take your old gpu apart and reapply thermal paste. It's a pretty straightforward job that will reduce temps. Though i wouldn't recommend a conductive thermal paste in the gpu die.

    Building a computer is based on a series of choices, like aesthetics vs performance. With a 13th gen I9 and a 4090 you're gonna want a LOT OF COOLING in that case. Even with AIO's, you're going to need to eliminate all of the heat generated by those two components, and transferred to the coolant in the AIO. IMO you do not have nearly enough fans running in that case. You need positive case pressure to eliminate the heat. You want to keep CPU and GPU temperatures as low as possible when you are running CAD software. Also, and I agree with others, Arctic Silver is old technology and a poor choice. I prefer Noctua but others have their preferred thermal paste.

    Before you call AutoDesk junk, you need to check facts. What did you do w/P-Core and E-Core assignments before you ran prismatic conversion? I know being on a 5800X3D w/an Intel Arc A770 I have zero issues w/this operation. Also, you could have bought Team Red and saved money while getting better performance.

    Arctic silver is highly conductive. Arctic MX4 absolutely crushes it, non conductive and it lasts up to 8 years applied. Otherwise nice over the top build. Happy Thanksgiving!

  • @KuroDensetsu

    @KuroDensetsu

    Arctic silver is not electrically conductive, however it can still cause capacitance issues if exposed to conductive components, as many compounds on the market can. But yes, MX4 is slightly better, by like 0.6 C, as tested by TomsHardware 2023 thermal compound roundup. All that aside, the Arctic Silver is a damn sight better than whatever was on the AIO from the factory.

    After your first enthusiast build, you'll learn about SP and AF fans real quick if you care about the investment. Good static pressure can keep most dust out. Ignore people that complain about fan color and go for performance imo. Nobody will ever look at your pc or care what it looks like enough to justify a color theme imo.

    Big F making all of it Asus right now. Current Asus has a ton of problems and has tons of capacitors soldered on backwards lol this is why you talk to someone who actually knows a thing about PC's before you build one.
