I probably should have defined that MY idea of a perfect trail Banshee includes a peaky 2 stroke powerband; I am aware that cub porting and CPI pipes will be top end fun🤘 The goal is to be fun, nimble and not to beat up your body. What do you guys think of the plan? This is my 1990 Yamaha Banshee. I restored this thing 5 years ago and then built a 421 stroker out of it. I rode mine almost exclusively in the woods and i loved it. Best 2wd hill climber I ever rode
LDR Berwick Maine. Absolutely hands down the best mechanic ever when it comes to the yamaha Banshee power plant..From top to bottom. Head owner Larry literally knows EVERY THING and can do anything with the banshee engine. Check them out, and you will definitely not be disappointed.
Not gonna lie i haven’t been consistently watching your videos since the 250r build but this got me really interested again and made me reminisce the times of buying my parts. I watched the whole video in one sitting
It will be nice to actually see a good handling trail banshee all I ever hear is how bad and uncomfortable they are awesome work!

Thank you Eric!
Felt you on the skidplate getting fresh air lmao. When you detail things and want those things to look nice, you dig deep and those finds are the best things in that field on god.
It’s been a minute! Spent a lot of time on your channel when I rebuilt my banshee a few years back. Glad to see your still at it with the banshee!
Absolutely love seeing you turn a banshee into a “trail machine”… much more unique than a drag racer. Not that they aren’t cool, it’s just predictable. Glad you’re doing it different! Keep it up, MS
@ricochetey
2 жыл бұрын
For sure! Where I live there really isn't a place where drag racing is popular at least in MN that I know of so a trail quad specific banshee is what I would lean towards.
I came across the channel a few months back and have almost watched all your videos since then, and my favorites in particular are the longer, full builds. Although to be fair, all of them are pretty awesome regardless of content length! These vids make me really wanna dive in and take on a project of my own 🙌
I had a “J” arm Banshee back in the day. I can still hear the sound of that motor with FMF pipes! 💪🏻
Love that your still all about the banshee. Never boring, that's for sure. If you need someone to take those carbs off your hands I'd be more than happy 😉
Enough of that 4-stroke nonsense, this is the one I’ve been waiting for. 😛 The channels true OG returns!!!🔥🤘🔥
Love the longer videos man, I just like to see full and detailed start to finish builds.
Mike, I highly reccomend making the swing arm bolt greaseable. By drilling small holes through were the bearings sit; and threading in a grease zerk at one end and plugging the opposite end by threading it and slapping a bolt in. 100% agree with the planned engine build for a woods weapon. 👌🏻🤘🏻
Super excited to see the banshee again and to see what the outcome is. Glad to see your shoulder is healing up good.
I like this mike. You're fixing things I thought needed correcting like them pipes! You really should go dyno this when it's done. Be a fun video for us.
@MichaelSabo
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Robert; I would really like to do the dyno this time around too; thank you for the suggestion!
I'm not sure what you do for work Mike and I know you put a ton of work into these videos and builds but I could definitely see you building a shop and building machines full time in the future. That would be the dream 😎👌👍
I also think the green rings on the back wheels would look killer and the front and rear hubs I think would look killer in that blue color to match and I must say flames or not it's right up my alley and I love the colors man, great job I can't wait to see it all come together and I also highly recommend the shaved front fenders especially for a gncc or woods quad just because it's so much easier when flying through tight trails to be able to see your clearance with the front wheels and obstacles it made a world of difference and with being plus 1 in the front all the mud and shit from front tires just flies past you on either side and doesn't get you dirty at all.
I love that you care about our opinion so much but at the end of the day it's your setup and whatever puts the biggest smile on your face is what's right for you I just love the content
This will be fun to watch--I'm thinking about getting a Banshee. I do builds like you (a lot of classic 250 3 wheelers and quads, e.g., Tecates, LT250R, etc.) but I like to spread out the upgrades over time. Doing everything at once is a big hit to the wallet, while doing them over time keeps the machine interesting. You have this channel, though, so I can see why you buy everything all at once.
Stock bore and a good port is a good setup for trail riding! I also have a -1” roundhouse swingarm, it’s the way to go ! Cant wait for the next video 🤓
So excited for this build. I watched your 1st build and got my own banshee to build similar. 25k later and it was the best bike/quad I ever built. Love the 2 stroke builds
Pt 2 pls I love your videos they have taught me alot about atv's and how to build the engine
Wow that’s pretty sweet ! What a screamer
Absolutely love the longer videos keep up the good work ,bikes are lookin sweet

That's why I started following you there is SOOO many drag banshees and I love trail riding n love banshees can't wait till its done its so nice to see a trail build
You won't be disappointed with CPI's..thats what i run on my banshee, and they sound sick..cant wait to hear them on the banshee 2.0
Love that you throw some Derekisms in your videos
Digging the new transformation Mike, I'm also a trail rider so I'm all for this build.
You’re not the only one on the skid plate thing my man. I hate how dirty my skids get on my bikes.
I love all your builds you put some time and effort in to your work. I would be proud of the work you do. Well done .
if you put a bigger steering stem, you will feel a big difference in driving and smoother. keep up the good work
Less power is definitely better on trails at least thats the case on dirtbikes. Im pumped to see what you do with it. I definately like the longer format!
Heck yeah dude love to hear that your doing a xc build on it I’ve wondered what one would look/handle like can’t wait to see the build keep up the good work
It's going to be great fun watching you upgrade your shop tools as your channel shoots to the moon. Great show Sir!
In my opinion, The Banshee is the best 4wheeler ever made period!!! Twin 350 2-stroke! fast AF!!! THE ENGINE & TRANS was originally used on a motorcycle! If one could source that motorcycle, & get the carburetor & the transmission, you'd be set! The motorcycle was designed forage higher speed so, the carb & intake from the motorcycle would definitely benefit you! Along with the sprocket! In a hole shot & out right speed, The Banshee is definitely where it's at!!! I purchased a 03 Blaster 200cc 2stroke/6speed brand new in late 2002 from Wheeling Cycle for $ 3022.00 cash! Tax & everything out the door!!! My buddy purchased a 99-02 (somewhere between 1999-2002) Banshee from Wheeling cycle & after seeing him drive it, I wanted a 4wheeler so, I purchased a Blaster & honestly, I smoked many other bikes except for a Banshee! O e guy was mad because, His 4 stroke 4-wheeler cost 13k & was SLOW! IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL THAT THE EPA BANNED 2 STROKE ENGINES WITHOUT TRYING CATELYTIC CONVERTORS! 2 STROKE ENGINES ARE WAY FASTER THEN 4STROKE!!! The motorcycle that used the same drivetrain, had a 2 into one carb!!! Try & get one!!!!
This thing will look awesome the 400ex you did looked killer with the graphics you desighned for it. You have an amazing artistic ability to be able to design such cool builds!
-1 or -2 swing arm is one of the best mods you can do to a banshee for anything outside of drag/hillclimbing. The traction and weight bias shift makes a massive difference in handling.
Love this trail banshee build. Just picked up a stock 98 and looking to go through it as a trail rider too. Great video with lots of good ideas. Keep it up Mike.
Love these videos dude. I finally got my quad back together after a couple years thanks to the motivation from your channel bro. I appreciate it man!!!

Me and my dad always wanted to take a banshee and put a 1k in it and a bottle. Some slicks and track it these are such cool looking drag racers
I enjoy watching your builds. I definitely like the longer videos.
Big fan of the longer videos ....and thanks for the link to the dial indicator ...ordered and on its way .... even though I am a two wheels guy I am really digging your channel
I like a mix of long and short videos, your videos are awesome!
Congratulations on the 101k man. Saving sport quads a quad at a time.
"Sissoring action" hilarious,,, Great video,
Love you're channel I have a 1987 Honda foreman 4+4 that my grandpa bought brand new and it still runs good
My buddy used pro circuit pipes on his Banshee. It sounded sick! More of a high scream & a tink tink @ idle! You could get aluminum pipe or tubing & make a lighter frame! The weld stick(or at least allumirod welds very easily & welds alluminum!!!!! Can use map gas to weld it.
Banshees gonna be awesome man, can’t wait to see it. Just wanna let you know man your the guy who inspired me to build my banshee. I learn a lot on your channel. Love all your builds, keep em comin.
Very excited to see this new build! I’m actually in the process of building my 99 banshee. Personally I’m going for a dune bike🤘🏻
You put alot off parts on your banshee 👊👊 💶 💶 i cant wait to see the video's!!! 😇😇👍
deff like the longer videos. 45 mins or so is a sweet spot IMO
Michael, Your content is top notch. You bring together a very unique blend of the "HorsepowerTV" level of production with the grassroots feel of a guy in his garage - it doesn't feel fake and cheesy. It's also very nice to see someone with this level of ability making videos for the somewhat underrepresented quad scene. I like to throw on one of your videos while I work on things myself. I can only imagine the time and effort it takes to not only do what you do, but then also film every step. Just wanted to say I really enjoy it and you keep doing you, bub. Awesome job.
Dude definitely like the longer videos. Also totally agree with you about the stock bore with cub ports. This thing will be sick. This video totally re-excited me about my banshee and you gave me some new ideas. Thanks Sabo!
I think you should have plus one in wheelbase on the front arms because that also gives you more rear weight bias. Also I always wanted to try the Shearer two into one pipe and single carb. Smooths power band and great weight savings.
defiantly love the longer videos man hope your shoulder heals fast so u can ride hard again
Love the new look of the banshee bud and i like that its a trail build that is were most of us ride i bet it makes good power when u are done cant wait to find out u do the best builds man we are all very impressed with your work thanks much for what u do and taking us with u its not cheep at all to do this much respect bud!!
Sabo! I think the best combination of videos is the longer build videos and the 15-20 minute videos of riding, in my opinion!
How are you doing brother!! I love the fact that you are doing your banshee again and doing it right you have learned so much since I've been watching your channel which helps me learn as well I just want to thank you for the kick ass content and yes longer videos are way better.
Scissor me timbers! The build looks great!
The new colour scheme looks good! I also went down is displacement on my last rebuild, but got a pro port job and better jetting. The difference in insane! I only ride trail too. I think you are gonna love it! Also cool to keep the J arms! Can't wait to see what's next!
I do like these longer video but not gonna lie in have to stop and come back to finish. To busy unless I’m watching this going to bed but then I’d miss all the action.
Always killing it with the builds great inspiration and always great info love the longer videos can't wait to see this one 🤘🤙

Glad you're enjoying them Tyler, thank you for the feedback 🤘
So happy to see the banshee again lol watched it get built both times
a great way to ballance the banshee is to push the front wheels forward a inch and then a -1 inch swing arm. this moves the weight to the rear by a inch which makes it not so much of a front heavy bike.
Sabo banshee videos are the best 🤘
Love when these hour long videos come out they go straight up on the wall tv in the shop while we working
Found your channel a few weeks back. I'm in the market for a new machine. I sold my 2005 YFZ450 years ago and I'm really missing it. Dude get a Jettrim seat cover trust me you'll like it. They can customize whatever color scheme and stiching color you want. You need to call them
That bike is a straight ripper fr!!
The color scheme all started with the carbs. The heart and soul of the quad
BRO, You can use a file & shape your foot pegs! Also, you can use Alluma rod & add to it! Heck, a bottle of map gas (the yellow bottle) & aluminum welding sticks is all you need, along with the propane torch, which even the cheapest one works but, the more you spend, the better the torch head! I know that Lowe's & other stores sell the aluminum weld sticks! At my local Lowe's, the aluminum weld sticks are in the tool department on a endcap where the soldering stuff is! Also maybe in plumbing, again where the soldering stuff is sold/displayed! Then use a file after adding material!! Build it up as high as you want!
Actively looking for one to build up myself. Tough to find a decent Banshee in my area under 3k. Stock are 7k and up these days. Really excited to see this build coming together

I think all your plans for it are spot on man. Its going to be sik on the trails. 🤘 I'm not the biggest fan of flames but its a suttle design and matches the scheme very well. Good job Sabo. 👏
It’s gonna be awesome mike! I’m actually gathering parts for banshee #2 right now. Something for buddies to ride and stay off of mine. I noticed your front calipers look like a arm bike calipers. I wonder if your spindles are off an a arm bike.. if you end up having to put j arm spindles back on it with your new j arms I have a pair of j arm front hubs and calipers… I’ll send them to you.

Oop I'd never let someone ride my machine again, especially after putting money into it. Had a friend literally break my trx swing arm in half right as I was trying to sell it
Cub cylinder with drag race port timing and cpi drag pipes sound like a great trail engine.
Finally, been waiting for the Banshee rebuild video's. Me personally I would have stuck with the 421 and, maybe went with a 2-1 adapter for a single carb. Just my opinion though. Either way, I think we're all looking forward to the build.

Single carbs are nice. You sacrifice a little performance for more low end and a lighter thumb pull. The trick to getting them tuned in right is the needle selection.
Would be really fun if you bought a smc wildcat quad, the engine is a Subaru 500 cc. It's starting to become a rare model. A renovation on that model with your knowledge would have been really good video.
