I probably should have defined that MY idea of a perfect trail Banshee includes a peaky 2 stroke powerband; I am aware that cub porting and CPI pipes will be top end fun🤘 The goal is to be fun, nimble and not to beat up your body. What do you guys think of the plan? This is my 1990 Yamaha Banshee. I restored this thing 5 years ago and then built a 421 stroker out of it. This thing is a blast and it’s now had 40-50 hours of use and it’s time to change up the build! I hope you enjoy the video and let’s go 100K subscribers!! You guys ROOOOCK!! Mike, I highly reccomend making the swing arm bolt greaseable. By drilling small holes through were the bearings sit; and threading in a grease zerk at one end and plugging the opposite end by threading it and slapping a bolt in. 100% agree with the planned engine build for a woods weapon. 👌🏻🤘🏻

I also think the green rings on the back wheels would look killer and the front and rear hubs I think would look killer in that blue color to match and I must say flames or not it's right up my alley and I love the colors man, great job I can't wait to see it all come together and I also highly recommend the shaved front fenders especially for a gncc or woods quad just because it's so much easier when flying through tight trails to be able to see your clearance with the front wheels and obstacles it made a world of difference and with being plus 1 in the front all the mud and shit from front tires just flies past you on either side and doesn't get you dirty at all.

This will be fun to watch--I'm thinking about getting a Banshee. I do builds like you (a lot of classic 250 3 wheelers and quads, e.g., Tecates, LT250R, etc.) but I like to spread out the upgrades over time. Doing everything at once is a big hit to the wallet, while doing them over time keeps the machine interesting. You have this channel, though, so I can see why you buy everything all at once.

In my opinion, The Banshee is the best 4wheeler ever made period!!! Twin 350 2-stroke! fast AF!!! THE ENGINE & TRANS was originally used on a motorcycle! If one could source that motorcycle, & get the carburetor & the transmission, you'd be set! The motorcycle was designed forage higher speed so, the carb & intake from the motorcycle would definitely benefit you! Along with the sprocket! In a hole shot & out right speed, The Banshee is definitely where it's at!!! I purchased a 03 Blaster 200cc 2stroke/6speed brand new in late 2002 from Wheeling Cycle for $ 3022.00 cash! Tax & everything out the door!!! My buddy purchased a 99-02 (somewhere between 1999-2002) Banshee from Wheeling cycle & after seeing him drive it, I wanted a 4wheeler so, I purchased a Blaster & honestly, I smoked many other bikes except for a Banshee! O e guy was mad because, His 4 stroke 4-wheeler cost 13k & was SLOW! IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL THAT THE EPA BANNED 2 STROKE ENGINES WITHOUT TRYING CATELYTIC CONVERTORS! 2 STROKE ENGINES ARE WAY FASTER THEN 4STROKE!!! The motorcycle that used the same drivetrain, had a 2 into one carb!!! Try & get one!!!!

-1 or -2 swing arm is one of the best mods you can do to a banshee for anything outside of drag/hillclimbing. The traction and weight bias shift makes a massive difference in handling.

Michael, Your content is top notch. You bring together a very unique blend of the "HorsepowerTV" level of production with the grassroots feel of a guy in his garage - it doesn't feel fake and cheesy. It's also very nice to see someone with this level of ability making videos for the somewhat underrepresented quad scene. I like to throw on one of your videos while I work on things myself. I can only imagine the time and effort it takes to not only do what you do, but then also film every step. Just wanted to say I really enjoy it and you keep doing you, bub. Awesome job.

Found your channel a few weeks back. I'm in the market for a new machine. I sold my 2005 YFZ450 years ago and I'm really missing it. Who knows maybe you've inspired me to take on a new project. ☺️ I just moved into a new house that has miles of dual track so I'm itching to ride. Keep doing what your doing man! I'm in southeast PA, who knows maybe we'll run into each other.

BRO, You can use a file & shape your foot pegs! Also, you can use Alluma rod & add to it! Heck, a bottle of map gas (the yellow bottle) & aluminum welding sticks is all you need, along with the propane torch, which even the cheapest one works but, the more you spend, the better the torch head! I know that Lowe's & other stores sell the aluminum weld sticks! At my local Lowe's, the aluminum weld sticks are in the tool department on a endcap where the soldering stuff is! Also maybe in plumbing, again where the soldering stuff is sold/displayed! Then use a file after adding material!! Build it up as high as you want!

To address the issue with remounting the stock airbox, you should weld on some tabs to secure it only in the back make them sliding adjustable

I think all your plans for it are spot on man. Its going to be sik on the trails. 🤘 I'm not the biggest fan of flames but its a suttle design and matches the scheme very well. Good job Sabo. 👏

It’s gonna be awesome mike! I’m actually gathering parts for banshee #2 right now. Something for buddies to ride and stay off of mine. I noticed your front calipers look like a arm bike calipers. I wonder if your spindles are off an a arm bike.. if you end up having to put j arm spindles back on it with your new j arms I have a pair of j arm front hubs and calipers… I’ll send them to you.

Finally, been waiting for the Banshee rebuild video's. Me personally I would have stuck with the 421 and, maybe went with a 2-1 adapter for a single carb. Just my opinion though. Either way, I think we're all looking forward to the build.

Single carbs are nice. You sacrifice a little performance for more low end and a lighter thumb pull. The trick to getting them tuned in right is the needle selection.

Would be really fun if you bought a smc wildcat quad, the engine is a Subaru 500 cc. It's starting to become a rare model. A renovation on that model with your knowledge would have been really good video.

Glad to hear you got your 400 running! I am unsure of what I will do with the take off parts; there is a good bit of sentimental value with this machine. They may end up being on the wall in my new shop; it would be cool down the road to have pieces of the OG banshee for people to see.
