- In this video i am building the Motorized Music Box - from start to finish. I am also improving the music box so that it hopefully won´t break down in front of 15.000 people.
Tomorrow i´m making an extra video showing how you can program these music boxes. These 20-note music box sets are available everywhere so you can buy the music box mechanism in itself, together with some programming paper and start to make your own songs easy!
More on that tomorrow, Thursday, all the very very best!
Martin

If you want to support:
The fact that you are watching the videos and care about the music and future of Wintergatan is the best support anyone can have, I want to thank everyone who is here for that kind of support, it is really the fuel for the Wintergatan Engine.
If you apart from that further want to support the projects, we have these different options set up:
KZread SPONSOR
►Sponsor the Wintergatan KZread Channel by clicking the blue sponsor button next to subscribe
PATREON
►www.patreon.com/wintergatan
PAYPAL ME
►www.paypal.me/wintergatan
Why do we accept support in this way?
I, Martin, can already sustain myself 100% doing what I love to do. If you want to support artists/organisations who have not yet reached that privileged position, please consider supporting other artists/organisations who need the support more. With that said, I have too many ideas and too little time and with your support I can get more help from people around me to execute the ideas better and bring them out in the world faster. Hey all i am sorry i promised that extra video which didnt turn up! I started filming it and i went superambitious with it so it was not at all the half day project i thought it was, the video will turn up on another Wintergatan Wednesday! I am learning to never talk about videos upfront, maybe if they are done and uploaded i can talk about them but before that i will never promise again! Promise! :) Martin

I dont know if this is possible to add to the music box, but perhaps a roller that can pick up the music sheet and roll it up while playing could help.

Wintergatan I really want to say, directly to Martin, I am both humbled and deeply inspired by you as an artist and machinist. It is your band Wintergatan and its incredibly unique and magical nature that inspire me to continue with my own projects, both musically and mechanically. Your music, charisma, and genius really speak to me and I can't help but look up to you as a truly magnificent musician and person in general. I will most definitely, without a doubt, attend your Multiverse Tour when you come to London and I am sure it will make me very happy to see you on stage playing the music you have put all of your love into and for you to see (once again) the marvellous effect that it has on the people that come to hear it. Sincerely, I thank you.

The IEC connector for the power is a great idea because in any country you can find one of those cables for kettles, PC's, computer monitors, and if your power supply is ok with 120/240V 50/60HZ, you can play it in any country with just the right local cable. :-) Also the cave workshop makes you look like some sort of comic book hero :-D

The practice of a triple spare is familiar to me from my days as a climber. In climbing we say "one is none, two is one". While this usually refers to main system and backup, I have found it a useful motto when designing redundant systems, too...

It's so sweet of you to always be nervous for us not liking long videos or how sometimes you get side tracked along the way. Not being negative but I came to this page to attempt to learn how to tune , harden , divide , double note , quench and anneal a steel comb which is as you know the heart of a music box. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that you just purchased a unit and built around it with legos. I realize that many fans will take this as a dispersion on your work but not so... You have reached an amazing amount of people with an amazing project.... successfully bringing it to fruition.... I applaud you ! After spending many many hours searching for some usable and intelligent direction for the construction of a comb ( from scratch ) I again find that no such information exists ! I am older now but would certainly appreciate your input on this my dilemma . Congratulations !
