Hi there Boyd. I just purchased this model and the lighting kit from Tenacontrols. As soon as I'm finished with the Voyager I will start this build. Thanks for the heads up. You make my models come to life.

Well done Boyd! Always enjoy watching your videos. Have the Moebius B9 waiting in the wings to build. I like the idea of setting it up on a display base, in case you go the route of using a wall wart or stand alone.

Beautiful Job Boyd. I'm going to be building one of these soon, so yours will be a good reference.

I'm building a 1:1 full size one right now, the treadsection is pictured in my avatar to the left. That control board really sets the kit off well, excellent work on the model too, as always Boyd.

Hey Boyd, just to let you know, the red and yellow ears that stick out of the radar section (below the bubble) are in fact the other way around. The yellow one is the taller one and the red is the shorter, eye shaped one. I'm a member of the B9 Robot Builders Club and have built a full size Robot. This is the way he looked in the show. Note that the ears switched sides in the third season but the ears stayed the same color, tall one yellow, short one red if you feel like repainting them. Loved your build of this kit. Another great work of art!

Michael Jobin What do you mean? As in the head turns? The head does turn but that doesn't change the ear colors. Nor does it change when the ears rotate. The ears are colored on one side and silver on the other. Nevertheless, tall one yellow, short one red.
@3ccdmike

outsider238 Well the collar that they are on tracks around, it can go all the way around that's all.
@outsider238

Michael Jobin Yes on the model it can turn all the way around. Which will switch the ears around to the opposite side of the robot's head. But then his head would be facing backward. I'm just saying that no matter which side you decide to put the tall or short ears on, the tall one is yellow and the short one is red. Not trying to start an argument, but as accurate as we all try to be with our models that's the way his ears are colored. (Except in the 1st season of the show where his ears were a frosted clear since the show was in black and white and coloring wouldn't show anyway)

@ BK A, I remember those. They were made by a company called Remco. Every kid wanted one! I do have the 3ft tall version that is remote controlled by Trendmasters. Also the Jupiter II they put out as well. They have become pretty valuable since I bought them in the mid 90's.

You can install a reed switch for the sound.

I'd probably make a mold for the skirt/pants part and cast it in resin. Other than that, this kit looks awesome. I might even get one.

I'm having a helluva time wiring the lower LEDs - help Boyd!! Should I snip off the leads and then mount first or should I wire the LED's to the board and then mount them? What's the proper way to wire all the anode leads to the purple wire? Any KZread video or help would be appreciated. I'm a novice, but with a lot of passion to build this model.

Fabulous. I have not built a model in years or ever one with lighting and effects. How hard would it be for me to build this kit with lighting and sound? I would love one of these!

Nice lights! Will you be doing the rest of the lighting inside the bubble: eyes, spoke lights, 3 lights atop the brain?
@wraith200720074 жыл бұрын
Three questions: 1. On the terminal block it has two small screw wire connectors, is that for the power adapter or am I soldering it next to that? 2. I have both Magnetic read Switch and Momentary button Switch, do I keep both on the Audio sound board or just one? 3. On the wiring instructions it looks as if it's saying I connect the Red Voice Mimic LED Strip and the White LED Strip Breast Plate to the power adapter, am I doing that or soldering them to the terminal block joined with the power adapter?
@wraith200720074 жыл бұрын
I got my lighting kit but the LED light strip is too long for both the mouth strip and the 12 square button light strip, can I cut the LED strip to fit in the area of the mouth and 12 button area and put my own ( 2 ) 3 mm LED's in it's place also can I add one more SMD to the board with out over loading it?

Where can I get replacement parts of the right and left box tracks Both halves for each side for my B9 Robot and how do I contact them...anyone know?

I’m curious, if I buy the kit with the additional lighting kit. Do you you know of anyone that I can pay to build or for me?
@rknill19 жыл бұрын
The hub is called the brain cup and spokes are called the finger lights and they should be red not amber. The three lights on top should also be red and they eye lights should be right. This info is published on the b9builders club site and has been extensively researched.

All in all the Model looks great for what you were able to do with it regardless of the comments. I hate to be a ''Nit Pic'' but I noticed that after you assembled the model. The green LED on B9's chest [2nd row, 3rd lite over] wasn't blinking. I hope it's just dim & you don't need to take it apart to fix it.
