BUILDING SPEED | Breaking a world record at Bonneville Salt Flats

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In 2019 Max Hazen set out to break a land speed record at Bonneville's World of Speed event. Commissioned by HAAS Motorcycle Museum, Max built this bike from scratch. Not only building a bike to go faster than 200mph, but riding it himself. This is a film about Max's weekend at Bonneville and all the amazing people that make Bonneville such a historical place. May the salt live on forever.

So glad you made this video. Heading out for speedweek this year on a 270hp Rocket 3. We're gunning for the new Rocket 3 record, love what you did with the Motus, real shame such a phenomenal engine design isn't in production any longer in a road going bike. Built the engine, trans, and everything else myself, proven engine that has both crossed the country touring and is perfectly happy at stupid speeds :P

👏👏👏almost worth carrying a parachute / drogue for pulling the bike into line if ever it's needed ! saves on leather dry cleaning , PS what is the smallest cc bike class their

It was a wild ride for sure. Unsure of the smallest cc class, but I'm sure it's on the bonneville website.

I'm glad your 2nd pass went bad. There is no logical reason to take an untested rider, an untested bike at an untested surface to its limits on a shakedown pass right off the trailer. You are lucky to be alive and that the machine didn't get damaged. With that said. You need to work up to these things incrementally lest you become another dent in the salt surface
