Building Shop Walls Out Of HOME-MILLED Lumber

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today I try to enclose my shop so I can heat it this winter using lumber I milled myself.
ENJOY!

My dog steals stickers every time I’m milling! I was splitting firewood yesterday, she decided to steal them as well! Building with green is tough but easier on your tools. Great video as always. Thanks!

Hello There, the last time I sent you a message was quite a while ago. I watch each and every video you publish and look forward to each and every one! For a while you didn’t publish many but over the last few months you are a presence again. I admire the progress you have made and I wish I had access to the beautiful forest around your home. The beam you installed today was gorgeous! It almost seemed a shame to use it for construction purpose but is on display for you to admire when you are in your shop. I so enjoy watching the progress you have made and look forward to all your progress no matter whether it’s woodworking, metal or your neat pickup truck. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Best Regards Fred Thomas in Skokie IL.

My hubby wanted to share how to avoid buying pressure treated lumber for ground contact application. He said thinly coat pine lumber with black roof sealant, cheapest brand you can get. Then wrap it with roof paper then anchor to concrete, sometimes he drills very few 1/8"in. holes and fills it with any type of petroleum based liquid. Burnt diesel oil works great, bugs & termites wont touch it, just a thought. Save your when doing oil changes on you equipment or vehicles. CHeers

  • @NorthwestSawyer

That sounds way harder than buying PT lumber😂 I like to mix my used oil with sawdust. It turns my wood stove into a rocket stove and heats the place up quick.

Hope you and yours had a great holiday 😊
