Building Senna's MP4/6 Full Build McLaren Fujimi 1/20 F1 Scale Model
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Here is a full build compilation of the Fujimi McLaren MP4/6 1/20 scale model kit as driven by Ayrton Senna in the 1991 San Marino GP. If you'd like to watch the longer videos:
Part 1 is here: • Building Senna's MP4/6...
Part 2 is here: • Building Senna's MP4/6...
Part 3 is here: • Building Senna's MP4/6...
A few things to note:
1.) This Fujimi kit is known for having a bad fit. I had sanded the inside of the engine cover to create space, but neglected the monocoque which should have also been sanded to allow room for the added wiring. The end result is the cover did not close completely so I decided to display the car with the cowl off.
2.) The front suspension sits quite high and requires modification to lower the car to a normal ride height. I have detailed the steps in a recent post.
3.) My camera had trouble picking up the true appearance of the fluorescent red. It's a bit darker and more red in person, however it looks brighter and more orange in the video.
4.) I recently got a new fan for my spray booth which is 20dB quieter and will no longer have that loud drone during painting clips.

Just found your channel and it takes me back about 18 years to when I last built a scale model kit. It's so nice watching you work through all of this and I may have to go pick up a kit to give me something to build other than all the war gaming/roleplaying minis that I work on these days.
Nowhere on gods green earth have I seen anyone with this level of almost impossible commitment, skill, patience and focus on a model to the point where each and every little fake screw and wire matters, hats off to you!
The moment he started adding the body rivets is when this guy turned Ultra Instinct on. So damn cool.
Been waiting a long time for this. I am inspired to tackle my Tamiya 1/12 Williams FW14B. Fantastic work!
Judging from the detail of the maker, that “:(“ at the end is the understatement of the century

Wow, seriously good building skills and the attention to detail that most of us wud let slip. Great model for a great driver
this is absolutely insane ! Astonishing job dude
Wow simply wasn't expecting that sort of level of detail! Amazing!
Absolutely great work. Your detailing on your models is amazing. I loved your work on the Leyton House Porsche because this car is so beautiful and rare but this build is my absolute favourite build I ever seen. Waiting for the next to come👍👍
A piece of art. Hope to see the MP4/8 to.
Amazing attention to detail, unbelievable. Senna and Ron would be proud👍🏻
I’m in shock. The craftsmanship, the attention to detail, the patience. Congratulations for building such a historic car in such a majestic way.
Some cars make the drivers famous, others make the cars famous. Senna made his cars legendary.
As an F1 fan, this is super satisfying!
Thank you, Great build, perfect details of products used and techniques shown. Perfect length with no irritating talk or music. Will be revisiting when building my FW14b
I'm speachless, this is so amazing!
At 14:43 minutes we see "Senna's Bane" being installed, may he forever RIP. From that steering wheel linkage, to the scale bodypanel screws, I've never seen as detailed & skills at model building as are demonstrated within this video. OP even got the freaking wooden shifter - which Senna preferred to leather wrapped - handle color / wood grain correct. Very impressive scale model of one of the last real Formula 1 racecars prior to computer assisted era .
Well done Mr. Zig, you do an excellent job with your content, editing and overall details. Keep up the great work!
Dude, the level of detail in this build is crazy! Awesome job!
This was incredibly satisfying to watch.
Well done! Your painting skills are mind blowing how good you can paint with precision
Absolutely sunning, Chris. If I can make my Tamiya MP4/4 even half as good as this, I will be pleased.
Hands down one of the most satisfying videos I've ever watched
this is such an incredible amount of work work. this must have been taking weeks or month to make. And the amount of details ist just insane. I have the highest respect for this person. These kind of videos deserve way more attention every single regular music or vlog video
Fantastic job ! I have this model in my stash but I want to improve my skills first before trying. This is a very special car for me: this is the MP4-6 from Brazil’s 91 GP, maybe the most epic Senna victory and his first in Brazil. I was 14 years old and I was at the race track that day - the only F1 race I watched live !

Great story! To have seen Senna racing is a rare privilege. I completely understand why you’d want to improve your skills before you attempt to build this kit. I feel the same about my two Tamiya 1/12 F1 kits, the Williams FW14B and the JPS Lotus 78. The details Ziggy adds are brilliant and way past my skill level. However, a straight build using only what’s in the box is still an impressive feat. Watching Ziggy’s videos are very inspiring. To me, painting is the most difficult skill to master.
I have to tell you, Ziggy. I held my breath for the duration of the cockpit detail section. An absolutely stunning video which showcases your skills. Fascinating, captivating and utterly absorbing to watch. Thanks for sharing and when you open a workshop to let in fans to see you crafting in real time, please let me know the time and place and I'll be first in line. This was a real delight to watch, ten out of ten.
This is so absurdly good, a Senna worthy effort!!
Superb build! Brought back memories of A.Senna 👍

Years ago (in the 90's) I built the Tamiya version of this car. Obviously not to this standard, but I'm proud if what I did back then. Seeing this video makes me want to do it all over, using the techniques I see in this video and using the detail kits available now.
