Beautiful building - ultimately the cost became so high in part because of the client's numerous decision changes to the design choice

This building is a bollox,it's not "A Building" it is many buildings joined this will be pulled down in the future due to high costs..a long perusal of said bollox might make one reflect on scotlands' drug problem, did Scotland have to hire a Spaniard to design, have they no imagination where are the Mackintosh's or Stevenson's..They are there...I,m sure

It is by far one of the best buildings built in the last half a century, if not longer. The detail in the cladding, craftsmanship, materials, never mind that virtually no part of the build/ buildings are the same, is extremely rare and expensive for a building of this sheer scale. You could never built it for say £40m that is completely fantasy and £100m is still pretty low ball. My fear is people are basing their own opinion's on being political motivated, not actually the building itself.

If you think that building is anything other then a mess, then you are kidding yourself.

You sound like one of those pretentious twats who call themselves 'architects' in the 21st century. The building is garbage. Utter garbage. I have never met anyone in Scotland who thinks otherwise (yes, I am Scottish). People are basing their opinions on what they see, and they see a repulsive mess with exposed grey concrete that is already weathering. Your comment about the detail in the cladding and 'craftsmanship' surely must be a joke. I hope I live to see this pile of garbage bulldozed.

@@eccIefechan If you even knew what you're talking about, you would know the cladding materials don't incorporate concrete. And on the subject of materials, they haven't weathered much/ at all, have you ever visited the building in person? Let's face it, you wouldn't know architecture if it hit you in the head.

@@Domini_k Who the fuck said that the cladding incorporated concrete? Much of the outer walls are exposed grey concrete, which was already weathering when I saw it in 2007, and in subsequent times I have seen it. "Let's face it, you wouldn't know architecture if it hit you in the head." To quote myself: You sound like one of those pretentious twats who call themselves 'architects' in the 21st century. A repulsive mess of a building that should be destroyed for the good of everyone.
