Building New Cabooses & Slide Fences: ALTA Railway EP 7
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Capturing late 1960's railroading in miniature down in Mexico, the Alta-California railway is a proto-freelanced railroad modeled in HO scale. The layout is an 8x15' "donut" shape, with generously broad, superelevated curves to run 60's era passenger trains beautifully well.
In this episode, we built a rock slide fence and a caboose!

Hehe yeah, the age old EZ line debate. When you spend hours upon hours going nuts with it only to find its invisible from standard viewing distances. At least it looks pretty in those closeup camera angles.
Back again with a massive layout update! I have put down my track a cork bed. With that I got a DCC system and installed decoders in my 2 F7s. I am going to redo the track though because I just wanted to run trains the night I put it down. (We all have been there...) Anyways, I have been building a Walthers 2 stall engine house. I am also ready to start scenery! Have an amazing day and keep up the good work!

Thanks for the wonderful update! Keep em coming at you build.
Barely visible detail is the best detail. It's one of those "you didn't notice, but your brain did" details that absolutely makes a difference!
IT'S TROLLEY TIME, BITCHES!
I’m definitely ready to see the progress on the Interurban line. Somethin about the dinky lil guys always leaves me interested with them.

Me too! I just got the bascule bridge in the mail today, and the street trackage is on its way from Germany as I type this. Hopefully the next couple of episodes of the ALTA will cover progress to that end.
I'd guess from the diamond shaped logo on the plans, it's a Reading design. Great progress!
It’s always a good day when we get to see more Alta California
Very Cool thanks for sharing
Good progress on the inter-urban line and the slide fence is especially awesome
Yay the ALTA California is now electrified i also have a question will there be freight electric locomotives and what does the ALTA California mean?

On the Interurban electric line there will be freight electric service! "Alta California" means "Upper California" in Spanish and is the original name for the State of California back before 1850. Thankfully ALTA reporting marks are unused by the AAR, so it naturally fit without overlapping a real railroad.
