Building MASSIVE Custom Bison Boots - How Its Made
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
These boots take custom to the max! Sporting our new Canyon Bison Leather, these arborist boots have hand cut lace to toe vamps that lead into a custom lineman patches. And don't forget the 12 inch uppers for that added protection for the calfs. Lineman patches add an extra layer to protect the foot when climbing trees and poles. Steal shanks and lineman shanks are added in the bottoming process to give a sturdy and ridged support when climbing with gaffs. At size 11 7E these boots needed a custom addition to our lasts, in order to widen the boot even more.

Thanks for the lack of music in the video. I love the sound of the shop.

DAMN! No wonder these last as long as they do with how they're put together, especially the stitching.

That is the most relaxed leather I've ever seen. It's like it is already broke-in from every angle.
Beautiful work! Great video
Absolutely gorgeous
I’m saving up to buy another pair of these so I don’t have to go without my JKs when I send one in for a resole

Beautiful boots.
Done deal, I’m ordering a pair. Really cool people still have this skill.
Just got my pair of custom forefronts. 11.5 8E and you lowered the arch for me. Arch still feels a tad high for me. But i can wear them all day at work, the off the shelf pair i ordered first i couldn't wear for more than a few steps. I'm still breaking them in, the more i wear them the more i like them. I'm kind of debating if i'm breaking in the boots or their breaking me in. Oddly enough i was having some pain in my right knee which started to feel better after i started wearing them at work.
Amazing!
Nice video thanks for makin

Watching and seeing how these boots are made is absolutely fascinating and I’m currently saving money to pay a pair of JK boots to live on the family tradition of loggers and that footwear. Absolutely amazing work of art and time put into these boots and would be great for lineman work. Keep the amazing work you guys do going.

Seve un muy buen trabajo, no se donde están pero quisiera hacer una consulta está bota se podría hacer con suelas de las botas Magnum que son de goma más gruesa en vez de las de cuero. Gracias por su tiempo
just wow....how I wish I can afford this type of boots

nice work, although I prefer the straight corner

@jkbootsusa Can the o.t redwood be made with a zero drop sole?
Damn those are nice. Very similar to the Nick's boots. Me personally if I had bison boots that texture would be on the outside.. great stuff though
The thread in the stitching in the outsole will easily be worn down because of friction with the ground
I have no reason to own a pair of boots like this……but man, do I wish I did have a reason!
Why aren't the stitching on the sock hidden? They will wear off when wearing.
I like the white thread . What made you guys decide to switch from Kevlar thread?
@mr.monitor.

Kevlar is for the fire rated fire boots normally in the Industry, idk about JK. Regular thread, actually, works better.

Is it because they are OTs and not Superdutys?
I like jk boots but am not a fan of how they do the lace to toe model. The bothered my pinky toes. Tim and his brother William took care of me. I had not one problem with customer service at jK boots. Thi was a few year's ago. The are doing custom boots for all lifestyles to enjoy. Keep up the great work. I always enjoy the weth of knowledge the teach with the video's.
Why is the rubber sole part thinner than the leather itself. I want a much thicker rubber sole, I would go through that in 6 months.
Worth the money by far. I've been trying to buy EVERYTHING in this order: first locally then from Canada (not just packaged in), my home country, good luck on that!, then North America then South America. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE when it comes to clothes, shoes, socks even tools and appliances. Try it for a year, you get very sick of reading 'Made in China' or some other country with little to no laws regarding child labor or even equality in general. I don't mind buying from USA and South America except in S. America the gangs control so much. I'd gladly pay $100 extra esp hand made!

Why the steel shank and not a leather shank? See at 16:54.
@Fishbone8891
2 ай бұрын
If you look closely, you can see the steel shank under the think leather shank they covered it with. Their usual leather shanks aren't that flimsy of a material that he was holding.
@jkbootsusa
2 ай бұрын
A metal shank is what the customer requested in his boot, likely for using gaffs to climb, but could be for a stiffer more ridged arch (some people prefer the feel). The shank is in his hand when glueing at 16:44 but our video doesn't show him sticking the metal down. You can kinda see it under second piece of thin leather. This is called a cover shank. Hopefully that clears up any of the confusion 👍

Holy sh*t 7E, the Superdutys I wear are 5E they are wide looking I can't imagine 7E they will be wide as snow shoes. People think its funny my boots look so wide, I can't help it it was what I was born with size 12 3 to 4E feet.

Every video is the same as the previous one and it is no longer enjoyable to watch. Why don't you make videos showing the quality of the leather types and other materials you use and how they are selected? Also, the durable boot models you produce are very limited and you are not innovative.
