Building & Improving the 1/35th scale - Tamiya Panzerkampfwagen 38(t)

Ойын-сауық

Here are some simple, repeatable steps I took to build and improve my Tamiya 1/35th Panzer 38(t). This model is the subject of a group build with the Totally Tanked podcast, so hopefully the construction tips in this video help anyone participating in the build, and of course any one interested in scale modelling in general.

Vallejo has got special colour for rubber, it is 70.306 Dark Rubber. It is worth to try, dries in nice satin finish like rubber.

Thanks - Ill check it out. If I ever hand paint the rubber on the wheels I use Black Grey from Vallejo. I just find spraying them and using the template makes for a quicker job. The colour tends to get lost under the weathering 9 times out of 10 anyway. Really appreciate your comments. thank you

@@workbenchhobbies4316 I use Black Grey for rubber as well, but more for rubber hoses on engines. It is this 'other' rubber look :).

Nice little build. This model is the next in my build list so I appreciate the build video. Built the ANCIENT Italeri kit (#212) a million years ago and I can say it is an utter pile of crap, more inaccuracies than anything else. On a side note, I've got a ride on the 38t at this years Aus Armourfest and I am very much looking forward to it.

So pleased you got some value from the video, and be sure to keep me posted with the new build. I’d love to see. Re ausarmourfest…that’s so exciting! You’ll love that. One of my videos coming up is my ride in the t34 last year. One of my life highlights. Don’t forget, weathering video dropping tomorrow!!

At 5:02 you are using photo etching to paint the wheels. What is the name of the manufacturer and what is the catalog number ?

Hey Michael - thanks for the comment. I know the Mr Surfacer product is available in the jars. I just like the mix that comes out of the rattle can. Its thinned to perfection. The product from the jar requires thinning to shoot through the airbrush right ? In saying that - you are completely correct and it is essentially the same product. Its just a preference for me.

@@workbenchhobbies4316 Mr. Surfacer in glass jar is cheaper than canned version (at least in the UK). You thin it 1 to 1 (or a little more thinner if you like) and goes well through airbrush. I probably would never came back to aerosol Mr. Surfacer again.
