Building duration and proofing positions
This is about a week and a half or so session for a basic obedience portion of a board and train.
I generally teach the basics, one or two “commands” at a time per session-so as to really focus on ingraining those commands into near muscle memory.
Then I start to add in a bit of duration, and depending on the dog, slight variations of proofing.
Here I am practicing running through some of the basic commands, testing a bit of duration, and adding in some slight movement on my part.
For most dogs, I won’t be going quite this fast. But this guy was super smart and very high-drive in wanting to work and engage. So I was almost constantly seeing how much I could teach him. Definitely a unique dog.
