Loving this build series, and loving the pace and regularity of the videos. I discovered vtuned through the goonzquad boys. Since I've been watching vtuned the video production is increasing and you are becoming alot more confident on camera. Keep up the good work bro. Don't listen to the negative comments from people who don't have the guts to have a go themselves. Keep inspiring the next generation of car guys bro.

I admire this mans dedication and desire to build what he wants how he wants and I support his efforts and will watch until the end. But the problem I am seeing with this build is he really needs to build some kind of fixturing to hold the frame rails in place and not just clamped to the factory crossmember that is just set there with nothing stopping it from moving around. All this metal will move and pull in all sorts of directions when welded. The frame table is perfect for this but he needs to take the time to build some fixturing to hold everything in place I would also have started from a rear crossmember and go forward from there and from there to the back of the car. Every tube chassis car I have ever built starts from a rear crossmember with every measurement taken from there and in relation to the chassis centerline. Good luck . I will enjoy watching your progress.

looks like a fun project but I hope you remember to square out your subframe and I would do that first with some tac on pieces to keep it square. If it is not you are going to have major issues later on. its nice that you measure alot but your still moving the frame around when trying to add on parts. I hugely recommend squaring that up first with some flat bar and keep it square through the whole build then after its all connected and boxed in and is considered a full frame that you can remove and clean up the flat bar squaring.

Great vid. Love your, “go for it”attitude. Suspension design is really complicated black art along with a lot of geometry. Got to measure the plane of the mounting points in relation the the level of the frame rails on the 2017 Blue mustang and match it. That plane of pivot controls the anti dive built in when off throttle and braking. Also measure the toe in of the pivot points too or the distance between left and right side pivots on those lower control arms.

I can see a few inherent problems with how you are mocking up the suspension. Building the front suspension before the rest of the frame is constructed is putting the cart before the horse. I would start by getting the frame mocked up in the car completely before starting on suspension, this is going to let you locate things in space and hold them there. As well when building the front suspension if you are making custom tabs, I would be taking that flat plate you are using for the brackets and drill it to bolt to the wheel hubs, thus giving you a stand that will clamp to the table and hold the hub assembly in space. When you are doing this the rear axle should also be sitting in the car so you can locate everything to it, checking the wheel base, checking how the wheels will fit in the opening. Me personally at this point I would just ditch the factory sub frame for the amount you have cut away and build a full custom one, it will look better in the finished product, also I wouldn't cut down the engine mounts, the reason being if you take the car on a road trip, say pour tour, and you break an engine mount, having to modify one in a O'Riley's parking lot will be a real pain. Better to dimple the tubing for clearance. And easy way to do this is just cut into the side of the box tube with a hole saw, slide a piece of plate inside and weld that, which will give it a bit of clearance and allow it to retain it's strength. Also be careful how much weight you are adding to the car, it looks to me like you are using 3/16" or 1/4" wall tube, use 3/16" sparingly, 1/4" not at all. The more mass you stick into the front of the car, the more likely it will be for it to under-steer because in a turn the mass will be fighting the tires for directional control. Forward of the front suspension mount, you don't need anything more than round tube to create a structure. Again if I was doing this id be looking for a rear end smashed car to pull all your front measurements off of by building a fixture off of that shell. Otherwise you are going to be in a huge guessing game even with another care there to pull measurements off of because you are dealing in factions where decimals count here. Once you have that fixture built you can easily build your own brackets off of it, and if a customer asks you to replicate what you have done here, you can do it fast because you have the fixture.

The only thing that really concerns me in these type of projects, is if the car will be safe to drive on the road... How does the legalization process for these types of projects works in the United States? Here in Europe it would be impossible to legalize that project, due to difficulties in proving that the car is safe to drive on the road. However, I really love to follow this excellent project. Keep Going!💪

It also depends on how honest you want to be. A lot of states have registrations for "kit builds" but they normally want to see parts receipts and a description of what you've done whereas if you just use the original VIN plates from the '66 it might be easier.

Great job, looking good. I would bolt the cradle as well as welding it. I'm not sure of the specs on the steel your using for your frame but it looks to be much stronger than the donor subframe giving you much more flex in the donor steel which could cause any of your welds to crack. Props man, it's coming together👍 maybe a suggestion for you, fabricating the pieces for cutting the body in half will be somewhat challenging but maybe an easy fix would be using a 2015 grill since you widened the body, plus it should look sharp and unique. Did you measure the length of the front fenders so it will fit without lengthing the body? Just curious good luck keep up the great work

I admire your guts for doing this and I’m sure it will work out ok in the end. I have to wonder though how much easier and quicker it would have been to make a jig off the existing subframe and then just build yourself a new one to suit your application. Would probably end up stronger too. I guess there’s always more than one way!

Dude hi. Great work. I think that the gap around the engine mounts should remain intact because reducing it will create problems. The engine mount is rubber for a reason. It needs to move freely in all the space around it given by the designer. I would suggest to cut the rail following the curve as it was. Keep up the good work. Regards from Greece.

In my 'Teens, my next door neighbor brought home a rusty ford 32 coupe body and '32 frame rails. I helped him build a rolling chassis and chop the top. Neighbor moved, but came back 2 years later and treated me to a ride in his candy brandy wine 32 coupe. That frame straightener is a perfect platform for building that frame. But it still boggles my mind how you are going to duplicate all the proper geometry for the front end. Steering, caster, camber, ride height, suspension travel. Skills pay the Bills. Enjoying the Vids. Thanks
