A radioisotope thermoelectric generator (RTG, RITEG) is an electrical generator that obtains its power from radioactive decay. In such a device, the heat released by the decay of a suitable radioactive material is converted into electricity by the Seebeck effect using an array of thermocouples. RTGs have been used as power sources in satellites, space probes and unmanned remote facilities.

@tostrong4you Actually it doesn't run on solar energy but a nuclear battery that will be operational for at least 14 years. even though the rover it's self is expected to die after one year. The more you know.

Thanks for the update, I didn't notice an inclinometer for the crater simulation so I am wondering what specifically you are using to measure the 20 degree tilt. I suppose an FOG would be readily available and inexpensive but can it handle the rigors of transport and environment.
