The brickmaking process is: Shove some clay into a brick mould, then come back 20 minutes later to find that they have all been baked in a brick oven. It's marvellous.

Try it in the US and you best not get caught. I once saw a sign on a damaged tree in NYC with a police department's phone number because they were searching for the guy who harmed it. Nice job on the interior. I was particularly impressed with the fireplace and brick floor. Unfortunately, from what I saw, nothing was done to keep the rain from coming in through the roof. You have to have a starter course and overlap by just over half with the shingles. The other problem is the stairs. They need to be covered for the rain, or they're going to turn into a mudslide.

I like to know if there is any type of pine trees there? pine trees are very sappy and create pine tar when they die . Pine tar is very long burning if you find a dead or dying pine tree cut the branches at the trunk if the wood is red or pink that's pine tar if you use that as fuel for your fire depending on the size it can burn up to 6 hours. Pine tar is found at the joints of branches and at the base of dead pine trees don't use fresh pine aka green pine in a fire place the fresh sap will explode! the resin has to dry up to be safe. Best dead pine are greyish in color to have good pine tar.

It's not humanly possible for a single person to dig this elaborate of an underground shelter alone. Her poor hands would be blistered up in just a few minutes. Just look at how hard this soil is and that's just top soil. I have no doubt there is a large crew of people with heavy duty machinery that dig this. There are so many channels that try to replicate the original but they use other means to do so. This is nothing against the young woman in the video whatsoever. What you see isn't always what's really happening behind the scenes...

That's a staggering amount of work and quite impressive. My only issue is the roof, too many gaps to keep the rain out. If she planned on using non-in-situ materials like the black moisture barrier on the outside, it would have been good to also put a similar layer under the shakes she made for the roof, then she would stay dry when it rains. Impressive craftmanship otherwise.

That's why they avoided any clear shots of the floor inside the shelter on day two. You could clearly tell it had rained overnight by the puddles outside and the muddy floor on the inside. I still like watching these type of videos though. Primitive technology who popularize this type of craft is one of the legit channels that do bushcraft. A few Asian countries after Primitive technology's channel take off noticed an opportunity to make some money. These type of videos start popping up all over the play with some really neat structures while trying to make it look like a one or two man crew did all the building. Many of these videos have been proven to be staged with a large team and modern equipment being used. I still like the idea that hey I could do that.

Just come out and say you don't think a woman could have done this all by herself. If you watched the whole thing you'd see that she does everything. the only thing that looks pre done is some of the wood cuttings.

These videos have long since been debunked as actual survivalist. They are backed by a dozen or so workers who often bring in backhoes and other heavy equipment to dig holes, make paths, bring water, and cut/trim trees. Essentially, it's a construction company trying to trick you into thinking one young girl can build a tropical getaway house in one day, without breaking a sweat or getting dirt on her clothes.

Knowing about history and the way the UK and Americas lived in the 17th, 18th and 19th Century, these skills where used daily. However the waterproofing was done differently. It would be interesting to know how long this took to build and if you were on your own etc. obviously this was filmed and edited to be shorter, but it is very impressive nonetheless the less. I realised you have baked the bricks for the floor as you could tell by the colour and the sound when fitting them. If you baked thes yourself, it would be great to see your technique on this. a very well put together home. I hope to see more and more of the techniques used.

Her energy level rivals mine when I was 19 years old working on the labor gang at a steel mill over summer break in college. I spent the summer digging trenches in slag pits, running a 90 pound jackhammer, shoveling lime slurry out of railroad cars and shoveling coal. Her skills and energy levels are literally off the chart. An amazing display.

Its the same when someone tries to "debunk" some guys named primitive technology like who really gives a fk, the reason people are watching is because they're curious about the result and to be honest none of them claims to be 100% primitive, and in every video we see that they're using primitive materials and not industrial. So in the end who cares about if they used a few modern tools to help since no one in todays sociaty have a fking clue about how to build things in a 100% primitive way :).
