Building Brand - The Power of Social Media: Daryl D'Souza at TEDxRyersonU

"The brand is your primary asset to manage."
Daryl D'Souza speaks to the power of defining and communicating brand; leveraging the power of social media to communicate and engage within our communities. Daryl emphasizes the vast potential of using real-time connectedness to communicate a personal focus to a global reach. His brand, Lou Dawg's, promotes good times with great people.
Daryl D'Souza is the co-owner of the Toronto-based Lou Dawg's restaurants, and a marketing instructor for the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. As a Ryerson computer science alumni, he worked as an information technology professional in the eHealth industry. Daryl completed a Masters of Business Administration and launched Lou Dawg's shortly thereafter with a business partner to create a dining experience that resonated with their personality and student roots.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

... Am I the only one that noticed he doesn't have a properly labeled y-axis in the graph he showed at 13:18? You should probably proofread your presentation before presenting at a Ted Talk...

Well, twitter is no longer the most popular social media platform and since this was filmed quite some time ago, it mentions no prominent players on the market right now
