Id have some help because it is very wobbly until all tightened. But if not possible, I'm sure Id manage... but use your own judgement :D

thank you for sharing this video and I had set up mine but I have problem with mattress. the bed size says 90x200 and i got mattress from ikea 90x200 but for some reason it is small for the bed. did you use ikea mattress size 90x200?

For a stronger and longer-lasting bunk bed use wood glue on all the dowels and joints. And ad a cross-brace under both the slat bottoms.

I have similar bunk bed bought two years back. Any recommendation to paint or varnish the bed. ?

Nice presentation, thank you. How stable is it 6 months later? Would you recommend varnishing before use? Would you think that there is an upper age (weight) limit for children using it?

Its a solid, stable bed (8 months later) and my son sleeps on the top bunk, hes 120 lbs. I dont know the upper age limit, id look on their website for that information. We have not varnished it, but you def. can if you want, or even paint it.

How comfortable are the mattresses you picked for the bunkbed

they are like sleeping on a sofa. firm, but comfortable. I hear no complaints from my kiddos. You can make it softer with a mattress topper if you want, though.

I don't know how you managed to fit the top guard rails with the dowels in place (which is how the instructions show, and which I can't figure out any other way)? I'm finding it impossible to put the rail between the head of the bed and the foot of the bed because the dowel sticks out and the frame is not flexible. it looks like Ikea have cheaped out and should have used screws, not dowels. Really disappointed.

Hi there! We used the MEISTERVIK foam mattress. its perfect for bunks and twin beds. I also have ÄNGSKORN mattress covers over them.

3 years on how would you say these bunks held up? I'm lookimg at buying some today for my 5 year old but not sure if they are big enough and if they will last

They held up well, my boys are still using it , with my older son on top bunk at 150 lbs. the wood does get a bit stained after many years , but that’s normal; just needs a good scrub .

The weight limit on Ikea site is 100 kg per bunk, so I guess 200kg all together

at 5mins35 there are notches for 3 dowels yet you only put 1 in the middle hole..why ?

What’s the weight limit for top bunk?

I'm sorry, I do not know that information. I tried looking it up on the ikea website, but it didnt mention it. I'd try calling them, or asking in the store.
