I was watching her garden planner open, page by page, and thinking... hmmm... I need to do that. I CAN do that for my garden, which is much smaller. I use the online Farmer's Almanac for planning in my specific area, but writing it down into a notebook seals the deal.

So much fun! And a bit of drama with the pipe flushing. Loved seeing you and Dan building new gardens again. The drone shot revealed just how superb the English Garden is going to be. Love how it gently wraps around that corner of the Chapel, weaving chateau, chapel, and forest together. It's always so good seeing Dan back at Lalande. Cracked up seeing his flashback reaction to the room all decorated for Valentine's Day in a palette of pinks. The flowers! Pups and gardens. Ombeline and Kevin make magic happen with what they do. It was very good "meeting" him. Then there is the Hamburger hunt. Multiple diggers. Valentine Day finery. A dinner menu guaranteed to leave a taste on the tongue for days. The first, and what could be the last, Lalande chocolate fountain. And most importantly - all of you. Couldn't be better. Loved every bit of it! Thank you. 😄

This actually reminded me of Geocaching.. there is an app for that and you can look for treasures around the world.. you may want to consider hiding geocaches throughout the chateau and the land around it for your guests as a perk 😊

Those stones Dan dug out have a flat, cut side which means they were part of a building or foundation at one time.

Wasn’t there a tower-like building there in one of the old plans (I thought there were three similarly shaped ones on the back lawn in one of the old etchings/drawings)? I think maybe it was the old chapel?

You make everyday feel like a celebration! So glad you included Dan. He always looks his happiest when he is at LeLande. Like he’s come home again!

Somehow when Dan comes the whole moon of the Chateau lightenes up. his dry wit is perfect foil for Stepney.

Stephanie, I have not been commenting for awhile, but i want to let you know how much your glorious vlogs still mean to me, and forever will, I am sure. Stephanie was saying she might get someone with a metal detector to do the lake bed after they remove the trees. But don't hold your breath they are running four projects simultaneously right now and need to finish them. Are there any volunteers out there?

All the defensive walls and towers were pulled down at Lalande. Dan moves the slabs to the hill behind the chapel to stabilize it for the garden. There is also a pile of rocks in the forest that Stephanie said was natural, just looked dressed, that he used. Near the site of the second tower, there are bricks from the old wall spilling down the hill and into the lake. Are there any volunteers to move them into a pile to rebuild a tower? 😘😘😘 There are also stone slabs along the dry moat that hold the sides in place. They don't plan to refill that side moat but won't fill it in.

Wondering if Dan found old stone steps up into a previous garden or pathway

Love Dan & Stephanie together...I remember when Dan first started. It just feels right that he is there part of the Lalonde Family.

The burger game 🍔🍔🍔🍔 reminded me of the story you told us before of Stephanie mouse who had to earn furniture in the computer game. I love your life Stephanie. Thanks you for sharing it with us. I’m sure some days you wish we would go away.

I'm always excited to watch chateau diaries - but never more excited than today. My city in New Zealand was smashed by a cyclone and been 4 days cut off from everywhere with no power, internet or cell communications. It's felt a bit like an apocalypse with so much destruction and people and animals dead. Power has been on for 20 mins and after taking care of the urgent stuff watching this is the first thing on my to do list - I'm calling it my therapy!

Used to cater, we always added a bit of vegetable oil to the hot chocolate so that the pump would oooze slickery goodness, lol. Try it, it works.

Oh Im waiting to see the next Lalande Ball (an annual thing?) with some big dresses and lots of dancing!

The maintenance department needs a long handle breaker bar for taking off the digger wheels. The spanner isn't made for breaking loose rusty wheel bolts. The pawl will become jammed from too much force. Plus, the handle is far too short to be able to get enough leverage on the bolt.

A burger game..?..Only Dan can do that.He is the man.
