@@SekAustria nice idea, but i think it isn't safe/good for wire rope, it can make a surface damage that make it unsafe

@@zemongoose123 I have worked in elevator industry for 30 years where they still use worm gear connected to the motor with a electro magnetic braking system in between. And the elevator starts moving (to up or down depending on the load inside corraborating with counter weight load) in power off condition if you losen the electro mechanical brake manually, means disengaging the brake. And the same can happen here also. The load forces the motor to turn, of course here it will be in down direction, in power off condition.

worm gear cannot reverse in case of electrical failure.

Most of the induction motor has a instruction in the cover of the wiring. I hope it helps
