    Ya know what has worked for me in getting them to eat is to grab the live cricket by just one arm w the tweezers for maximum squirming and it will look more appealing

    hey there, leachie keeper here, i suggest removing the water in the enclosure, since theres a chance they might fall, or just find another species better suit with water, no hate just suggesting 😊

Previously, we used AI voices, but many people found them uncomfortable to listen to. I will reconsider your feedback carefully. Thank you very much for your input!

    My crested gecko, close cousin to leachies, will not eat crickets from tongs or hand feed gecko diet. She will only eat crickets she hunts down and will only eat from her dish when I'm not looking. You just can't hand feed some New Caladonian geckos. Some of them just like to eat on their own.

    while its a bautifull tank i really would rethink the water feature. geckos in general are not good swimmers and its a drowning risk :( instead id add a lot more branches this would be a lot better of a setup for a amphibian or anphibiones

  • @DoorsToHideBehind156

    @DoorsToHideBehind156

    It's is truly an amazing tank, I've never seen a leachie in a paludarium setup before so it's an interesting idea for sure. I don't think drowning is an issue the gecko will naturally understand there is water down there. If it doesn't work out and the gecko continues the hunger strike that could mean stress from the environment and will need a setup change.

    @@DoorsToHideBehind156 My leopard gecko doesn't understand the concept of cliffs, so he'll just walk off the edge of a table. So I don't think Lechies can understand that there is water. Also my crestie sometimes misses a branch when jumping and will fall to the bottom, so even if they do understand bodies of water, accidents do happen and they may end up in the water anyway. Missing branches or maybe sliding off the glass door when they mean to stick to it when jumping are ways a Gecko can end up on the bottom floor of an enclosure. So there being a body of water there might not be a good idea. Also I don't know if water keeps their little pads from being able to stick to things. Probably would be a better idea just to not have a deep water feature there.
