You ended up with a great looking Huntercane, well done!!! I really like these new style Airfix kits in both 1/72 and 1/48 scale, they are fairly easy to build and have nice detail, sometimes even a bit too much. :) It was fun choosing the kit with you, just a shame they didn't have one more.. but I sure enjoyed doing my Spitfire instead, and having fun is what matters most. It was great seeing you again and it sure was a good day out at the museum. One day, somehow, I'd like to take you to Hannants proper, outside Lowestoft. It's not a place anyone would consider small.. ;) Thanks for wanting to do a buddy build with me and here's to next time.. :) :)

A friend of mine says that the model airplane kit world would be NOTHING like it is without the old-time Airfix. Airfix has done kits of planes that you can get nowhere else. I suspect they stayed with 1/72 because of the smaller square footages big city dwellers in Europe often have to contend with, but I can't say that definitively. Airfix distinguishes their older designs with a note that the kit is a vintage kit. Their 1/72 P-40 is very nice, I have their Spitfire, Wildcat and P-51 as well as their 1/48 English Electric Lightning ... all very very nice kits....

Good old Hannants! Been around for donkey's years and their mail order service and range are outstanding! Airfix have an undeserved reputation...... it's true that many moons ago, what with bankruptcy and mergers, they were a shadow of their former selves and they relied upon re-releasing old and dated models. Now, however, they are outstanding. Perhaps not quite as sharp as a Tamiya but very very good. Try any of their more modern kits and you won't be disappointed. My next build is an Airfix Hawker Tempest. It's excellent 👍
