Building a Willys Jeep from scratch
Today's video is a very special video, I sit down with Jamie and talk to him about a project he's been working on for almost 2 years.
In September 2018, Jamie started building a Willys from scratch. One year and 8 months later, it was completed. This video is the story behind the build.
I hope you enjoy and please don't forget to like and subscribe.

Well, there goes my excuse "I wish I had a Jeep, but I can't find one in decent shape." Seriously though, what an amazing build. It's a thing of beauty!

By "from scratch", I thought it would be building from a blank body, not actually EVERYTHING from scratch. Wow! Quite an achievement! Congrats!

@@jamie6291 where did you get your dimensions for the grill? Could I give you my email address for future communications on the subject of scratch building the body?
Holy…! What an accomplishment. I hope the licensing bureaucrats weren’t too difficult to deal with. Here in Minnesota, USA, I would probably need to show them every receipt for every piece of metal, etc that I purchased. Then they would apply a tax to the vehicle based on that total. I went through that when I built a trailer back in 1978.

When we watched this video, my wife said "I wish my brain worked like that" I laughed and said I wish mine worked like that also. I'm always amazed by people like Jaime, people who can figure it all out and make a way for it to work. His passion and attention to detail is second to none. That patients transfers onto the trail as well, he's always willing to spot you through a tough part of the trail and help you learn what you and your rig are capable of. I can't wait to see this rig in person some day. You're a one of a kind guy, Jaime.

Amazing achievement. Thanks for sharing. I've had a life long wish to have a Willy's Jeep ever since I saw advertisements in the back of comic books for a Jeep in a crate back in the 1970s when I was a kid. Later on I was in the army and got to play with all sorts of gear including the successor to the Willy's - the M151 1/4 ton "Mutt". I put a lot of miles on the M151 over the years in the field and on the road. In a way, I got my wish. I left the service at the time when they were replacing the M151 with the HMMV - which is no jeep.
