Building a Stormtrooper: Hand Guards

This video covers some background information on how the original hand guards for stormtroopers and sandtroopers were made and used.
The screen used ones were latex rubber, painted white and glued to black rubber chemical gloves.
You can do that but I would suggest using thin cotton glove liners to soak up the sweat since the rubber gloves do not breathe.
Hard plastic hand guards included in most armor makes need to be attached to fabric gloves. You can use velcro or elastic straps.

Thank you Christian for watching. Yes, there will be more. I am catching up on current projects and I have been working on costumes for some of the DC Shows. So I have to finish those first! Don't worry, there will be more videos in the future. Thanks!

Enamel paint doesn’t cure on latex. You must use latex specific paints like those used on monster masks or mix acrylic with rubber cement thinned with solvent

Most kits come with vacuformed hand guards. Some people make their own latex ones which I describe in the video, but I thought it was best to keep things consistent with the rest of the kit.
