    Hi, now this idea you can add on the gauntlet is to make the missile compartment open and close by a click of a button on the fingers. So that its a 2 in 1 gauntlet which will make it more cool and fun.

    Having a bit of trouble in my own assembly process. A lot of the screw tolerances are way too big leading to loose parts. Once wired the two wing servos do not align as well as yours do and do not align with much consistency. Lastly, the piece that closes on top of the hand appears to be acting opposite the rest of the gauntlet and no matter what I change in the code it consistently does the opposite.

  • @tommytech2

    @tommytech2

    5 ай бұрын

    Sorry to hear that! The big problem with screw holes is that people have printers calibrated differently, so the tolerances can be different as well. Two fixes you could try are to use larger screws or a filler material to thicken up the screw holes. I’ll have to see pictures to see what’s causing an alignment issue with the wing servos, that’s the first I’ve heard of that problem I’d recommend taking off the top hand piece and testing the servos individually, they could be misaligned or another hardware issue could be causing that. If you want some more in depth help, feel free to email me at tommytech222@gmail.com

    Hi again, while i was making the arm, i have noticed that the system is not controlled with the button, its automatic, is it a change you made? then would it be possible if you can make a code in which that button can open and close the missile pod?

  • @tommytech2

    @tommytech2

    12 күн бұрын

    I’m not sure what you mean? It should be controlled with the button. I haven’t changed anything. I could make a code to only open and close the missile pod if you’d like

  • @arnavawesomeplayz5956

    @arnavawesomeplayz5956

    12 күн бұрын

    @@tommytech2 huh, because on mine when I switch the gauntlet on, the servos does some small movements than after a few seconds, it opens for like 5 seconds and than it closes.So that's why I thought its automatic and thought you have changed the code. Finally, yea that would be nice adding an extra code to only open and close the missile cover with a press of a button twice. One click for open/close gauntlet and two clicks for missile pod.

  • @tommytech2

    Hello again, finally got my first 3d printer and after making a benchy, im starting to print the test fitting things for this build. When actually printing thw actual arm what settings do i need to put in the slicer for each parts?

  • @tommytech2

    @tommytech2

    19 күн бұрын

    I think the best way to test this is to print a piece that is meant to hold a servo motor. If it fits well and screws in, you have your settings dialed well. I tried to design this arm to print with fairly standard settings, but adjusting your flow rate slightly lower or higher may yield better results for allowing the electronics to fit better

    So I downloaded and printed this but I found out that the pieces do not fit perfectly snug together, as in there is a small gap between the movable forearm pieces which is even seen in the video. Is this by design to allow the to open and close more easily or a design error? I can easily overcome this by using a heat gun to heat up the material and bend it slightly to make sure everything closes tightly together but I don't want to change something if it has a purpose

    Sure thing! Most of it is fastened with m3 screws. The electronics are fastened with m2 screws, as well as the repulsor light holder in the hand piece and the flexible wrist piece to the top clampers. The retainer clip in the hand piece that clamps the flexible piece is also m2 screws, and I think that’s it. You should be able to tell by the size of the holes, but sometimes it’s a bit hard.
