Real Arc Reactor (ionized plasma generator)

Ғылым және технология

Is it real? Well, it's a real "arc" reactor that generates plasma, but as we explained in the beginning of the video, it's impossible to create a device that uses less power than it produces due to the Conservation of Energy, a fundamental law of physics: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conserv... (summarised as energy in = energy out + losses.)
When we charge the phone, it's just using power from the main battery. Plugging it into the house - also just a skit. Sorry to get your hopes up! But one thing is for certain - it's the most realistic arc reactor ever made - at least compared to the CGI one in the movie.

The nice thing about the arc reactor is that it could really work. And it's not because of some "free energy hocus pocus", it is because of the way it's built which reminds me of a fusion reaction. To be more accurate, it reminds me of a tokamak reactor. Which in theory should work (and they are still working on it) Just give them another 30 years and it'll eventually happen

James isn't a genius though. I don't think anyone his age would be especially impressed with his intelligence or think he's gifted. He's not doing anything revolutionary. He's smart enough that he's not dumb, he's moderately educated enough to not be ignorant, experienced enough at building stuff that he's starting to get the hang of it after a few years, and beyond that just decides what he wants to do and then works his ass off to get it done. It's the "Deciding to do something and then working your ass off" that makes him different than most other people who are working their 9-5s so they can have their comfy, checkboxed, boring lives.

The arc reactor has a built in feedback loop which is why it can generate that amount of electricity. But if that loop is not constantly sending power elsewhere it will get to the point where it will either overload and explode creating a small crater beneath it as well as destroying a few miles worth of destruction or someone will have to go in and manually release the energy in the form of an emp that would be able to shortcircuit and fry any and all devices that are within the estimated blast radius. So essentially what it is is nokola teslas tesla coil combined with the arcitexture of a particle accelerator along with a self recharging flashlight.

I supposed you could emulate an arc reactor like this much simpler with an automotive ignition coil (12v, probably more compact to use motorcycle style), and having the Arc Reactor copper coils as conductors so the arc bounces from one conductor to the next, then encasing the whole thing. Instead of trying to make individual arcs between the points, which should slim down the whole package.

just build a magnetron with a see through lid sitting behind the normal stub output. When a magnetron is on all of the cavities (between the internal spokes) are arcing continuously. ...I don't know what you will do with the RF coming out of the stub though. 🙂

What happens to power if current is doubled? For a resistive load, as the voltage increases the current will increase by the same ratio. If the voltage doubles the current doubles and the power goes up by four times.

I'm 73 and I wish I would have had the resources you do when I was your age. I love what you do with multiple disciplines. I used to do similar things when I was young, but I was your age back in the early 70's and there wasn't much available in the way of supportive creative tech back then. I did have the good fortune of working for Raychem R&D back in the early '80s and we invented and brought to market many useful items of new tech. We even got in on the creating and operation of the 1st commercially installed LAN. Heat Shrink Tubing was the Companies premier product but one of my projects was a thing called Hot Line, which is still available from other companies now. It's an inline diesel Fuel Heater. We also made the first flat ribbon cable. Fun times then. Enjoy it while you can. Remember this... "Anything that can be done with technology can be undone with technology. If technology can make it, technology can break it. " Greg Evans 1995 (c) GECS

It’s actually not a perpetual energy machine because it’s shown in the background of the scene where Obediah yells at the head scientist there is tons of palladium in the background and iron man had to switch out the palladium in his suits before upgrading to whatever the new element is which I also assume he swaps out every now and then
