Looks like a fun build, but I kinda thought vivid was more legit than to claim the KN adds 24 RWHP, and the tune adding another 13. This clientele is more educated than that, it’s a little bit of an insult. The $7k worth of seats is a little curious on this as well, maybe spend half the money and go with recaro sportsters? That money could be better spent on OE GT3/aerokit parts.

lol. You guys are showing the specs for the 997.2 base 3.6L, 345hp, DI engine. This is a 997.1 Carrera S 3.8L and 355 HP. Different engine all together.

It’s been proved that exhaust mods add tiny minuscule improvement to performance , the rest is window dressing , the roll cage 😂😂 wow red wheels , all you need next is to paint flames down the side ! By the way I own a 997.2 c2s so there it is . Ridiculous !

Full of hate? Exhaust comment not true. I have been doing Porsches since 2006 and prob have used everyone’s suspension wheels exhausts intakes tunes brakes wheels. The amount of Porsche parts I personally sold in the forums heyday was insane. People would come to me for coilover advice, tiptronic upgrades, 6speed clutch improvements non stop. K and N has been proven in numerous Porsche sites to LOOSE HP because it sucks in hot air. The NA 997 has a great stock air box, and it’s the stock Cats that are the restriction to flow. If you do change out the entire exhaust system including X51 headers then the X 51 air box is worth some HP.

Stock intake box makes the most hp ,, also muffler delete pipes will decrease torque , dont ask me how I know. 😂😂

What about preventive work on IMS? Is that famous issue overhyped in your opinion?

Yes. It was disastrous in 2005 and 2006 (like 5% failure rate at 90,000 miles). That went down the following year and in 2008, it was like 0.6% at 90,000. So if there's 200 911s parked all next to each other, you'd be at risk of picking the wrong one out of 200 which would fail at 90,000 miles. Not a huge risk but unfortunately, catastrophic if it happens. I drove a m97 powered RS60 Boxster for 6 years from miles 11,000-31,000 and it was fine. Water pump failed due to unbalanced turbine ($800). That was it.

Should have pointed out preventative work is making sure you have fresh oil and revving the engine under load/speed. Higher RPMs better lubricate the bearing in question.

@@vivid_racing I'm skeptical of your HP gains. Typically these engines lose street driveability and sometimes actually lose torque and HP without headwork, bigger valves and a new plenum. A dyno would convince me otherwise. And as an owner of an 06 Carrera S I would love to be convinced. Do the KW 3's have a dual setting to accommodate the Sport Mode (PASM) option? Love the other mods BTW.

@@stevereno6799 yup. 997.1 owner as well, if I could spend under $2k and get more HP than the $20k x51 power kit, I would have bought this many many years ago. Unfortunately the dynos aren’t showing this.

What is the expected power update after the tune? +20hp?

For 35HP Porsche increases the size of the motor from 3.6L to 3.8L PFFF they could have just put a different air filter on it.
