Building a paver patio and firepit
we're not professionals and aren't pretending to be...just a couple of older gals who wanted a place to sit and enjoy a fire and maybe roast some hot dogs and marshmallows....and of course have a few drinks!

Here is my thoughts on this job. First, Mrs. Meyer are you happy with the job that you have completed? If yes, then who cares what other people think. Secondly, how many people out there actually take a task such as this upon themselves to do? My final point is this, you took a task upon yourself to do and finished it, you took the initiative and that alone is praise worthy enough. It isn't the critics that count it is those in the trenches that matter. Enjoy your accomplishment!!
Typical soil weighs about 85 pounds per cubic foot, so you moved about 4,700 pounds of soil. About 2.35 tons.
Age just a number and doesn’t matter how you get it done or what style you do it. Do what works for you. What a inspiration I got no excuse. Now!
Professionals are great (when one can afford them), but nothing comes close to the satisfaction of doing it yourself, imperfections and all.
Great Job Miss Lady 👷🏼♀️💪🏽
You saved me 10k. I did it myself after I received an estimate for $10,500. I then watched this video and said if you can do it I can do it. I made an 11x13 and put a gazebo on top. It's my favorite place to be now.
As a professional. Im proud of this lady and how she did all that digging by herself. Thats like 2.5 yards of dirt. Or 3 tons or so
I don't care what anybody says, that is back breaking work. Excellent job. I'm about to do the same and now have a great understanding of the labor involved. Enjoyed the video, thanks for posting and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
my husband wants to get a digger in and now I know why! You are a very brave determined woman!!! Koodlo's to you!!!!!! Hope you enjoy your patio!!!!!
You go girl. I just redid my whole kitchen by myself. Female and 65. I’m so proud at the beautiful results plus I learned a lot.
As a single woman and a new home owner I'm impressed you took on this task...it's inspiring actually!!!
Hello everyone. I actually own a Lawncare and Landscaping business, and what this lady has done here, is pretty close to exactly what we do one our patio installations. One tip I'd like to leave you all with, is when you put in your rock for your base, if you check your local rental store, the have what is called a plate compacter. It's a gas powered machine that presses down and compacts what ever you drive it over. It's well worth the rental fee
Something about ladies doing project gives me just a little bit of confidence that I can do it too. Great job!
Hell of a job , finally have a home of my own with a back yard with grass . This made me think I can this ! Thanks for taking the time to document this 🙏
So nice to see other ladies doing work and accomplishing projects around the house. I am trying to teach my 23 year old daughter as well since you never know what life will bring to you and you can rely on yourself. I do say Praise God for you nice neighbor for helping move the dirt! Great job!
Great job, ladies!
This is the definition of a DIY video. Everyday people using everyday tools and lots of elbow grease. It looks amazing! I can't wait to get started on ours. Thank you!
You gals are amazing! So inspiring. Thank you for posting this video.
Good to see a woman outside working. My lady would never in a million years attempt this. If a bead of sweat comes rolling down her face or a bug touches her, she freaks out! kudos to you ma'am! And the patio turned out nice.
Thank you so much for posting this whole video and showing the actual work that goes into a diy patio.... This is what I've been trying to find, the actual steps involved and not a 3 min video of clips from a tv show that leaves out the actual hard work and what it takes to put into a project like this! Thanks again and great video I enjoyed all of it!
