@6:50 Pro Tip: Only have enough tool sticking out for the depth of cut, will give you a cleaner cut and longer tool life.
Missed you Dan.
Great machine. About the purple heart, it's from Brazil. In some regions it's very cheap, and people use to make the roof structure of the house. Very beautiful wood. With heat it gets more colour. Try it in a scrap piece with a hot air blower.
Can you make a comp vid between this and the Longmill MK2 ?
A full review is a great idea!,and then maybe a follow up eventually with how you have implemented your handtool skill with knowledge of running the cnc! I think your on a great path, been watching for 3 or 4 years now
It’s always a nice day when Dan uploads. That prototype came out amazing, looks cool with the purpleheart.
Dude!!!! Where have you been?!!! The OG. Hope you are blessed. Good to have you back on the tube.
Glad to see ya back Dan! Hope y'all have been well
Glad to see new guitar videos.
The extensions make that incredibly more useful! That looks like a great machine! Looking forward to the full review!
Good to hear from you man...
solid purple heart body, thta's brutal
That router is getting very professional. Awesome body shape too.
Purple heart for the fretboard!
❤❤The brush of your dust collector needs to be way further down .
There are a couple Clone Makita Routers on Amazon. God Bless Locktite. I put it on all my Tuner Screws, Intonation Screws, Output Jack, etc.
That body shape is pretty cool! Nice job!
Another Great Video Dan 💯 , Thanks for Sharing 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
14:06 Really like that neck inlay design. That is going to pop when finished.
Based on your prior video, I have been seriously considering a Longmill MK ii. Why the move away from the Longmill? Video perhaps comparing this one versus the MK ii?
Great video, I'd really like a full review. I'm in the market for a cnc for guitar making so watching your videos is a massive help.
You can always go to warmoth and customize their stuff until you get your own stuff really going. They have customizable necks and bodies.
You're back!!!!!
always try to use the shortest cutter you can. less chattering. Chattering can hurt the spindle also.
All that dust - OMG
Price comparison, this machine with all the upgrades vs. the new Sienci Altmill.
That seems like a really nice, really cool CNC. I still haven't been able to pull the trigger on one, but I'm definitely thinking toward getting something. Right now, cost is a BIG factor. But I think I ought to be able to cut out acoustic style fingerboards, bridges, and likely the neck could be done, too. I'm not sure I'd go for big enough for the electric bodies, but maybe one day that, too. Glad to see you around again, too. Hope all is well with you, your family and the job. Take care friend.
Nice video
Very Muse-esque. I love the body design.
Mate looks awesome, never worked with purple heart, I still kinda want too though
Fun toys. Would love to see a full work up and review. (I'm thinking of adding a CNC to my workspace, and would love to know if it is worth it)
Man there are so many great options for machines now! Way better than when you or I started even Dan. Did you see that millright launched the Mega V2 ? The thing comes with a vacuum table and tool changer!......check it out........just wish they sold those options as upgrade kits for my original Mega V-XL
I'd love to have this CNC setup! Can you get it with a 4th axis?
Next we'll start seeing some 2011 machining for the guns portion. Hahaha
Wondering if the brush of your dust collection needs to be “sweeping the board”? You won’t be able to see the bit doing its work but it should trap the dust better
I Love this TELE! Is it for sale (purple heart)?
I'm hearing a lot of deflection around the 7:00 mark. Consider running a shorter bit whenever possible.
😎
Dose the Fox Alien come with software? if it dose what isit? Thanks
Baaaaassssssss.......
Hey I'd be interested in one of the guitars in this video's thumbnail. How do I contact you? J-man
Has anyone been able to co tact Dan? I bought an instrument from him and had some questions for him
I don’t know what he’s doing with all these CNC machines because I’ve made several attempts to get a custom Tele body from him and have not received one response. 🤷🏻♂️
Really miss when this channel was good
First?
You sir, have out-classed your audience with these gimmicks. We used to follow what you did as we could all do it, but now? Your 4th or 5th new CNC? Really?

I’ve followed him quite a long time and you can really see his improved handcrafted skills to technical skills, he had to evolve he couldn’t do DIY kit guitars forever; I get what you mean I don’t have the time or budget to go get a Cnc machine but I Enjoy the journey

Don’t watch then? What’s stopping you making guitars with hand tools on your own? If you don’t want to get into CNC then don’t. This is his channel covering his hobby and it doesn’t have to pander to anyone.

I hear you. I think his earlier content said all that needs be said on do more with less- and seeing someone’s hobby go from dirt cheap DIY to boutique builder may be good for someone who also is traveling on that trajectory. I have a similar critique of other DIY woodworking channels I have watched…but I’ve noticed that every chance I could afford to buy a machine to make my work faster/better I have.
Smooth? Neither of those first two runs were smooth. Spindle abuser killed the first one and will kill the router also unless he changes his behavior. The amount of chatter he's getting... Can he not hear that?? I wanted to shout dude about the length of exposed bit but that would do no good. He tries on the vacuum setup and I bet he's wondering why he's not getting good results. Of course he's not going to get decent results if the dust boot isn't at least close to the material. Yet another sign that his bit length is too long... A moment of silence for the first spindle. Yes, you were underpowered but you still had so much life left in you to be taken so quickly.
