Building a Modern Ultimate Gameboy Advance!
Ойындар
In this video I build a gameboy advance mod with a new IPS V2 Lcd screen, a new shell and a usb c rechargeable battery kit. I forgot to mention in the video as well that even though this was an Ips screen ready shell. I still had to do a bit of cutting. For some reason the new Ips screens do not fit well anymore like the older ones use to.

I added wireless charging to mine. Great looking build!
Cool, love the look and the usbc charging port, very convenient as you can find those type of chargers anywhere 😊❤ great mod! 👏👏🥳
sick build!
Stunner! 💙💎
Sheeeeessssshhhhh!! Looks so nice
Awesome
thnks trainer tips for the video
Thanks for doing this build. I have 2 purple GBAs. One of them I've been wanting to mod and this video gave me the inspiration to start that project. I'm going to try and keep the original shell if possible because I love the purple but want to add a backlite screen and rechargeable battery. Going to do a little research to see what parts I need to order.

Good luck. I thought about it but ended up just buying the purple *Anbernic RG351P* instead.

Yeah we all know how that went… don’t be cheap save yourself the hours of cutting and scraping the original shell to get the screen to fit. And even then once you’re done that plastic is 20 plus years old and extremely brittle… just save yourself the headache and the trouble and pay 25 dollars for a brand new Precut shell like any person with common sense does 🥲😂😂😂
At least you could use luminated screen

I've been thinking about fixing and upgrading my old Game boy advance but I don't know were to start not to mention the L and R buttons stopped working and I don't know if it can be fixed. Any Idea?

Fixable but better be really dang good at soldering not an easy fix at all. If your wanting to sell it Lmk.

I would recommend starting with a drop in IPS screen. A lot of them have touch pads so you can change the brightness without soldering anything if you're worried about that. But I would recommend picking up soldering as a skill using some practice boards that you can buy online because it opens up your possibilities! For your L and R buttons, it could just be that they're dirty and maybe cleaning with isopropyl alcohol will help.
How much do you charge for something like this?? I would love to buy a specialty GBA !!

Mustn't the foam come between the glass lens and the screen?
@chriswinters3783

Did you read your comment before posting? Why would the foam sit in between the glass lens and the LCD panel? How would you even play your games with a foam pad obscuring your view of the screen? Games are a lot more fun when you can actually see them. The foam pad isn't strictly necessary but it prevents any shorts by keeping any solder points or contacts on the board from touching the metal back plate of the LCD and also helps cushion the board a bit from accidental drops so that's why it's placed in between the back of the LCD and the board.

@@chriswinters3783 Wow, forgot about this comment..... I was confusing the foam with the gasket thingy, but thanks for your reply. Foam is in the right place 👍🏻

It looked like the display is sitting in there loosely with no adhesive, not sure how he managed to keep it centered at the end there if it was just sitting loose in the shell. It seems the shell might just be perfectly sized for that display, I would still be worried about the display jiggling around though.
1:30 how did you get it working though. it's edited out and he doesn't explain what happened.

It just needed cleaning on the cartridge reader. And yes I say it needs cleaning at 1:40.
