Worst decision ever. It's the kinda crazy thing that feels cool before doing it, while doing it, and then a week after it's done, you realise it's horrible to drive, it's not practical, it's ugly, and now you're broke, without a truck, and that vehicle you just modified and that you don't want anymore is now worth nothing and is unsellable. But you won't ever accept your mistake and tell your viewers/friends it's the coolest thing ever even tho it spends it's whole life in the back of your shop. Yeah, I know this seems oddly specific and probably hateful, but over the years I've seen that exact thing happen way too much between other youtubers, forums and people I know and I'm just trying to save people from wasting money and time.

Use a rope and a pulley so you could lift the whole booth to the ceiling and have it out of the way without having to disassemble it edit plus you could drive in the area then drop the booth on top for easy access

That's a really good idea but remember that he said he was gonna leave the wearhouse by like the end of this year or the next so that pully stuff might make it difficult in the long run
@giambaJ

It's gonna obstruct the lights and create annoying shadows on the ground, though. Plus, I think there's a big heater on the ceiling, during winter it would probably melt the plastic up there.
Also remember that ideal you want positive pressure in a paint booth. So all the cracks and openings air is blowing out of them instead of sucking dirt in
@jimdallas7255

Positive pressure in the 'Booth' will push overspray, isocyanates etc. into the workshop. Big no, no in the UK. In Europe though, this is their preference which is odd. You'll be wearing an air fed mask to protect yourself, will anyone outside the booth be wearing one? Probably not. Most of your overspray will fall to the floor as air-flow is next to zero over that area. Also, if you want to filter inlet and extract air, you need BIG fans and several sq meters of filter media. You've already seen how the small filter kills your small fan so think what it'll be like as soon as it get a bit dirty. An open fronted booth needs 0.7m/s to comply in the UK. For what looks to be a cabin 12ft wide by 8ft high you need 25,000m3/hr. Your fans produce about 500. For one off, small spray jobs your kit will make a safe environment but I'd avoid trying to run a paint shop using this. Stay safe and good luck ;-)

don’t forget to wet the floor when you paint so dust doesn’t fly around on the floor
I have seen someone wet the floor before painting, so that the dust doesn't fly around when you walk. :)

Also makes paint easier to clean off floor
just a crazy idea I had while watching, how about attaching ropes to the top of it and using pulleys to pull it up to the ceiling to store it when not in use. This would also solve the problem of getting cars in and out, just lift it up drive in and set it back down. Maybe you could even use a cheap electric winch to make it easier.

The genesis is gonna look so damn good after it’s painted and finished, no project car is ever finished but you know what I mean
Don’t put a tarp on the floor. Best way is to sweep it best you can, then when your ready to paint put a few buckets of water down on the floor. this will keep the dust on the floor and catch falling overspray
Pour water on the floor when you paint to collect more dust there
Loving the vids, 100% my favourite KZread 👍🏼
Thank you for posting today 🙏🏼 really needed the Robbie Ferreira positivity
This is why I love watching Robbie’s vids. Doing creative easy stuff like this is amazing.
You could get a electric hoist or something like that mounted to the ceiling so you're able to pick the booth up so it's out of the way when you're not using it
Here is an idea, attach a pully/pullies on the celling and attach it to the booth so u can lift the booth when u are moving cars . U have the space above
Excited about the colour change. Make sure you have enough lighting. LET'S GO!! Whoop Whoop!
Honestly Robbie doing stuff by yourself and making mistakes ten fixing them has taught me more than I have ever learnt in school. I can't say it enough you're one of the biggest inspiration I have. Good stuff man keep it up.

Why don’t you put it on pulleys and attach it to the room so when ur done using the booth just hang it from the roof just in case u want to paint another car
Best KZreadr definitely deserves for subs!!!
I have recently found your channel when I was looking into screamer pipes because I wanted to put one on my Volvo (then i found out that my stock turbo was internally wastgated so I couldn't do it anyhow) and I have loved watching your videos ever since. Keep up the good work!!
Honestly my favorite KZread Channel currently. Keep up the work Man, Love how you're growing with the channel! I remember when you first started the civ in the shop that wasn't even yours and now you're here. Insane Man. Love the builds and not just referring to the cars
Make sure you move everything away from that exhaust fan. It will blow overspray out the fan and onto whatever is sitting on the other side

True, but rather be safe than sorry.
Working as a spray painter for most of my life in the smash repair industry the biggest issue most DIY guys over look when making a spray booth like this is static electricity. Essentially what you are creating is a enclosed flammable room that has solvent fumes within covered in plastic. The plastic can create static electricity and having paint fumes in the booth could ignite. Dont use just any fan from the hardware, you need to make sure its explosion proof looking at your setup the paint fumes are extracted from the booth passing through the filter and fan, It makes this highly dangerous, all the electrical circuits have to be enclosed to prevent spark ignition. Dont run any extension leads into the booth for lighting keep them all outside of the booth. I for one would not paint a car in a setup like this.
I've heard that watering the floor will prevent some dust, maybe look into it, I might be wrong but I've seen some videos
Hey Robbie. With such a big space you should look into getting car dolly trays that go under the tires. Then you could roll cars around easy

Awesome !! i should have done this when i painted my car outside ,mainly to prevent wind and tempeture differance
hell yeah dude this thing is sick wish you couuld keep it!
Great timing I need this content now :D
love it brother keep up the work, stay committed 👌🏾
Love all the new content keep it up favorite car youtuber for sure
Design your filter mounting system so that you can change them out easily, and buy multiple filters! The filters will clog super quickly with overspray, sometimes before you’re done one coat
I’m back didn’t think there was a video where it was late. Glad to see a vid from you and brad both today
I've painted a few cars at home in my old garage. I'll actually be sanding my car down this weekend to be the first car I paint in my new place. As long as you're using solvent borne basecoat or single stage, pouring water on the floor is a great way to keep dust down. I would sweep the floor the night before you plan to paint, let it settle over night, the wet the floor and blow off the car, and wipe it was a tack rag right before you spray. I've always found that sweeping stirs up too much dust to do it before painting. If you have any more of the LED lights from your ceiling, mounting them on the walls will help with seeing how your overlap is on the sides. I've also had good luck using one of those twin head halogen work lights on a tripod.
love these types of videos from you man
Was just laying in bed waiting for this to come out :)
Did a great job setting up the booth. I was sceptical at first but I think it turned out great. My only concern is; because it's so staticy, is that the paint will be drawn to the booth, possibly turn air pressure lower than usual and expect more cutting and buffing because of orange peel
I’m glad to see progress
Get some more filters for the exhaust fan and when you paint cover all the vehicles and tool boxes in plastic Wash the floor in the whole warehouse and squeegee the floors good job on the booth
Love you videos man keep on killin it
Here to watch your video of the day!!
hey Robbie I would suggest to set both fast to blow air inside the both. then there ist more pressure inside and the air gets out through all the spots that are not fully sealed. I build it myself thet way. you could also build it hanging from the sealing so you can use it again. furthermore I want to show you an video, I know it is in German but they build also a decent pair both. the video is called : Low Budget Lackierkabine für die Halle and the channel is Marvin [LB GARAGE] sorry about my bad English skills and greetings from germany
Ok, this is gonna be super useful. I'm starting a home powder coating business and need to set up a paint booth, so I'll definitely take some advice from this video, thanks!
Love the content. An idea for ur merch drops is a preorder option for larger people who need much larger sizes than u stock. Keep up the great work robbie
Can’t wait to see the genesis painted!
Hey robbie you should build some sort of hoist for the booth to lift it up and like keep it hanging on the ceiling or something 👍

Make the stairs with a Door hinge
that’s sick
Earlyyyyyy today love the videos man♥️
looking to build a paint booth so I can paint small wood projects, nothing like a car. saw you had filters on box fans. what was it about the filter you removed that was a mistake? just that you still had to clean up and didn't want it clogged before the project? or was it taxing the fan motor too much and you'd need a lower rated filter instead?
That’s so dope man
Hey Robbie, if you’re painting in the booth wet the floors so any dust particles that are in the air won’t be kicked back up. Great job on the booth can’t wait to see how it turns out
Some other people mentioned putting it on pullys so you can hoist it out of the way when you don't want it.
Should use a pulley system and hang it from the ceiling and just use ropes to lower it.
1 minute! First time so early. Always love your DIY stuff
dang man that's awesome , keep up the great wrk , u also motivated me to start my own channel !!
Good work, I think I would clean the floor 1st but that just me. How did it work out?
Look badass man
robbie thanks for this video now i can build something to cover my boat while working on it
Nice work on the booth. I think it will work great. Stay up ride low bro 🙏👊💯
seeing you do it yourself and not taking it to a shop is what is keeping me here robbie. a lot of youtubers that got warehouses and take them to shops i don’t watch anymore
Woahhh waiiitt its like the gingium setup, your paint booth
You should buy some wheel-dollies, makes moving cars in tight spaces much easier. HIGHLY recommended
I worked at a paint and body shop. A good tip is to soak the floor but not to the point were it puddles. Just enough so the dust on the floor don't get kicked back up from the air line.
Back to back content with DIY stuffs
Sick video
Bathroom renovations and repairs baybeeee. I did one myself
Sick diy vid. How much did you spend in materials to build it?
You should make it collapiable. So you can fold it and put it on the side of the wall till your ready for the next paint
Make the fans blow air in, no need for exhaust fan, the exhaust fan will suck in dust where it's not perfectly sealed
Hi there, amsome video. I am thinking about the same thing in my garage, but I can’t figure out, those fan’s you have, are they just regular home vents? I am a bit concerned about the overspray and those kinda fans so maybe you got a comment about the setup?
Hell yea keep it up
I love how instead of buying anything, you build it instead like the brz diffuser, the genesis tube front end, and now, this paint booth
what did u use to wrap the booth? what kind of plastic sheeting is that?
Kick ass idea! I had thought about using a wedding canopy and have it hoist up into my cealing when not needed.

@@AFXGaming yeah looks like it would work pretty well. Same concept of the PVC piping where you would just break down.
Dude you are gonna want the intake fan higher up so it doesnt blow the dust around that is on the ground. And when you paint, you should wet the floor to reduce dust from the floor flying up and landing on you paint.
Hey just an idea but I’ve seen people pour down water onto the floor as opposed to trying to get it perfectly clean. It also will attract the dust and keep it out of the air while painting
Any progress on the S10?
Don’t put the “clean air in” by the shitter haha. Not gonna lie, I imagine you may regret that quickly haha 😂😂🤣
How much did it cost to build a paint booth cuz I got my project truck it's a 77 Chevy short wide bed an it's about ready to paint it
Did nor cal hella make it all the way up to Canada....nice
NOTI GANGGG
PVC piping necessarily short because there's just loads of people using the piping but rather a lot of contracting is still being done (at least here) so what supply they did have will dwindle & more than likely a lot of those facilities that supply the PVC piping have shut down or are having lower production rates due to workforce/space issues.
I thought the landlord wouldn't let you paint in there ...... nether the less that's an awesome bit of work !
Idk if you’ve painted or not, but wash the car with dish soap be for you paint. This will remove the oils from your hands...
Pretty cool idea, you give me a idea to make one myself to...
Place your filter behind the fan that's blowing air INTO the space, not outside like you showed in the video. You want to stop dust coming in not leaving...or do both 🤷🏽♂️
What size is your garage, it’s really neat
The filter goes on the Air pulling side of the fan for the one that's letting the air in the cabin
You have to glue together the sheets in the floor, and after that you can put them in the booth
why does your drill sound like that? do have it on max power?
Bro, from personal experience, DONT SAND YOUR CAR IN THE PAINT BOOTH, even if you vacuum it up, you’ll never get all of the dust, and paint dust is so hard to get out of new paint
Can u give us a list of how many and sizes of wood u used
****Edit at bottom**** I planned on doing passive, filtered intake, and then using an unfiltered exhaust system.... but i have a ceiling so im thinking a bathroom fan Edit: Nevermind..... highly recommend to get an explosion-proof fan to not get the big kaboom.... but i think i can still use dust filters for a passive intake Also recommended was like an insane cfm to remove the fumes
Pressurize the booth it will virtually eliminate dirt/dust infiltration and it won't crap up your fans. Professional spray booths are pressurized.
SUPER cool !! Cant wait to see you pain her
