It made for a great video! While it was happening I for sure thought we would have to sand it back down. Thanks for watching
I like how yall showed the problems with the rain. Cause that's what a lot of us diy'ers will run into using one of these.
I already saw a review of one of these a few years ago. In that case it happens that the compressor and blowers were too much for the circuit breaker and the cabin fell on the new paint in a painfully slow way. So that's something to keep in mind as well.
@mokeimusic

Running the compressor and blowers off of different circuits would solve that.

Yes, same thing happened to me. Booth collapsed when circuits blew. Blowers on different circuits for sure.

And if it's a windy day... could blow away or blow the fan off the tent😅😅😅 dotn ask me how I know
Glad you gave it a good review for what it is and its intended purpose. Too many people on here compare them to $20-30k downdraft booths! Biggest problem besides heat gain is trying to fold it small enough to go bag in the storage bag they provide!
Hi Brian and thanks for the video. I have been using one of these for the past year and it is so much better than just spraying in the shed. The main issue with these as you mentioned is if you lose power, I have mine in the shed and use the D hooks to hold it up but even these don't do a good enough job as it sags in the middle, just something for everybody to keep in mind, apart from this I'm very happy with the results I have been getting from mine, Cheers.
This was great! Used to watching and learning from you in the ideal environment then going out to to my crappy garage and putting it into practice! Watching you work in a less than perfect environment and recover from that disaster was extremely educational! Glad you shared
I bought one this spring for painting in and outside my shop. I've used it so far to paint four vintage trailers, stain and varathane cabinetry and panels. I'm pleased with the unit. Had an issue with a zipper and the manufacturer was right on it and help me resolve and fix it.
"never a dull moment but it adds to the experience of the job" ... words to live by. Excellent job, thanks for sharing.
Been planning on doing this for my truck for quite some time now, this was the video I've been waiting for! Thanks for the excellent content as always
Been considering one of these booths for a while. And this proves they work but have limitations. You did an amazing job Brian recovering from that water issue. I was certain it was needing sanded before adding more coats and again learned otherwise. Great content Sir!
I had a mobile paint repair business in Florida and I counted on it raining at least once everyday day in the summer. Great job overcoming obstacles !

That's what we love to see. Definitely a realistic experience of what would've happened to anyone using the inflatable. Nice video.
Thanks for sending this to me bro! This is definitely the route I want to go for a good job in the new shop!
Awesome job, and I love the old oil lamp hanging in the garage at the end. My parents had one hanging up in the living room when I was little and I used to love to sit and watch oil go down the poles, lol. The Good ole 80s...
I painted my first car in my garage after getting the confidence with your videos, now every time I watch your videos I get the itch to lay some paint ! I’ll probably go home and reclear my headlights or something 😂
I tell people If your not going to upgrade these booths with proper filters, 2-3 hp vent blowers, and a elephant trunk suction fan system , don't even buy one. They don't work amazing out of the box and way to much over spray hangs around the booth for way to long. Seriously amazing job fixing that clear coat mid job you did amazing I'm impressed
This video was perfect timing. About to set up one of these at a buddy's shop in a couple weeks. This will take a lot of guess work out of the process. Thanks Brian!
I don’t know if you remember from my IG story but I painted my rear bumper in my backyard with just a tent. I’ve been thinking of buying one of these portable paint booths. Thank you for teaching the DIY community!
That paint booth seems a perfect answer to a once-only paint job at home. (I guess a few companies will include them in their rental selection, just like bouncy castles for kids parties etc etc. Nice work Brian! 👍

I just bought a booth just like the one in this video I tried to use it when it was to hot in July and the metal got 140 degrees so I went back in the garage , I think it will be a good thing in the fall and spring love the video
This was an incredible video! So much information as well as damage control. Thanks for the insight that not all goes as planned but recovery is possible. Fantastic real life video!
I've been debating buying one of these for a few months. I built a plastic booth a few weeks ago. My paint was bug free but had so much dirt in it. I may pull the trigger for the next job.
Thank you for the truth about everything. The odd fail here and there is the win win for us in real world. I have been wondering for some time about an inflatable booth. Looking forward to the next installment. 👍👍
Painted a car with one of these last year. The one we used came with three fans. We used two and held one as a spare. Heard rumor that these fans can shut down if run for long periods of time. It didn’t happen with us, but just something to be aware of. We also got rained on but nothing got inside. Overall very happy with the booth.
Awesome Brian! I've been waiting for this review. Thanks.
I bought one of these booths and I set it up in my shop building. Ive painted so far about 4 cars in it and it actually does a decent job for the price

I was thinking it would work better if set up inside a building. My primary concern was the sun and getting too hot inside. Then there's the rain.
Appreciate what you do bro real videos for every day people you truly go above and beyond 🙌🏽💯
Glad you reviewed this. Always wondered how they worked.
Cool. Been wanting one of these for a while as I have 3 cars to paint. Now I'm sold.
😱! Awesome job and amazing it didn't ruin that beautiful ocean you sprayed. Please keep the videos coming because they have certainly improved my confidence.
I have to tell you I've done a lot of things in my life paying cars is not one of them after losing business and doing other things at 71 I just painted or corrected the paint where the clear cut was coming off on a car for the 1st time in my life and the only reason that I tried that was due to your videos that I watched I will do better on the next 1 I learned a lot and I think I did a pretty good job on it and I'm pretty critical of myself but I listen to a painter and skip 1 step which I regretted however it still looks nice it's a better looking car and I thank you for your videos and I'm a fan and I'll continue to watch and learn
Used one of these a couple of years ago when doing some plasti dip (no offense, it wasn't my vehicle) and it really did work well.
Best paint videos on youtube! Thanis guys.
Great video 👍🏽 Thanks for sharing Paint job turned out great
What a REAL time Video.. Stuff happens to most of us, the stray bug, or water.. Grats its a Save!
This will work perfect for us . We just built a 80 by 54 shop and to set this up in the shop to paint skidsteers and mini excavators will be perfect
Omggg been waiting for this video for ages!!
Great video as usual Brian. I have as of now 2 questions/concerns ... 1st. How do you think the booth would do over spray wise doing a full car ? Using another gun that uses more psi 25-32 for example? 2nd. What do you think it would be best to do after painting to clean the booth to eliminate over spray sticking to it?
Great video! Been hoping for a review from you on these for a while

2 questions for you, Brian. Can you reverse the inflation pump so it vacuums the air out when you're done? And did you notice your overspray sticking to the inside of the booth?
Thanks I wanted to get one of these and now the prices are gonna go threw the roof lol but definetly a awesome video everything showed in this video was perfect and seeing how that booth works is awesome

Just purchased one today!
Not too bad boys!!! What a handy piece of kit!!!!!
considering the thought of cleaning the garage to the point its safe to paint this makes a lot of sense for a "clean room"
very good lesson, because its an issue maybe a handful of people will see but nice to know how to combat water on clear.
I have one of these and they work great.
Excellent, I actually got a pop up garage, similar size to that but has steel tubing for internal frame, and I've been purchasing LED work lights to light up this garage/booth, once I get a couple air extraction fans I'll be right to go, I'm based in Australia 🇦🇺 so I've just bought a gas turbo heater aswell
I believe sewinfla has a new one out that is air tight like my mobile solutions portable booth and remains inflated without the blowers running. Definitely a good idea to have the blowers running on sewerage 20amp circuits to avoid catastrophe!
I have one it it works well. Need to add a fan to pull fumes out when spraying clear.
Bro sorry I subbed so late in the game! I love your content and this episode really showed cool heads and quality work. I wish half of your effort was put into an insurance repair my Moroccan Red Pearl UA7 had a few years back . 🤙🏼
Awesome results !! Thank you for this content dude I have the identical see Color and make CRV. I was going to spray it out inthe open but I live in a rural area in SW Florida. I ended up vinyl wrapping it the same burgundy color, for now but plan to paint it in the next couple years, professionally

Love this color! Good luck with the project
Wouldn't be bad used inside where I live. Currently I live in an area with unpredictanle weather and wouldn't have room to store one. Fitzee's fabrication has a great video on how to make your own.
That was a good save with the water drips, had that happen once but it was coming out from the gun because of the filters not trapping the water any longer. That finish tho looked great
Oddball question, as a detailer having to apply polish and other products with a high speed buffer I run across several cars that the clear coat is very thin maybe from previous polishing or whatever. Have you ever had a vehicle in just for additional clear coat protection. It's a shame how much these companies have cut costs on such things but sure raise the price on everything else. Great videos, thank you.
amazing! I wish I had at least half your skill
Great video. Would like to see when you get that elephant's trunk in. Should make a huge difference.

Two things. The rain kept the dust down. Second the part about static electricity is a myth. You painted this in a booth that should have been loaded with static electricity; Yet look how good this came out! A job WELL DONE Brian! Phillip Hall
Great video as always man....love your channel... I have a question for you. I watch all your videos and gonna take a shot painting my truck. Now after ive prepped everything and im ready to seal what should i go to grit wise before sealer? Im using house of kolor products and doing base/clear and pretty sure im going with a kandy or a metallic but im just a little confused on some videos of yours about what grit to take the factory substrate to before sealer? Thanks for any information and keep up the great work!!!!
Damn bro. You spray glass at any condition. Love your work. And thanks for that awatta gun advice. It really worked out...
Excellent job
Great video. Thank you
im sure the neighbors love this guy that and this is a backyard mechanic job at best
for the price of the "blow up" space, you can buy or build a metal enclosure. Granted it's a more permanent building but far more worth it. I guess it has its place for the mobile guys. Only issue I can predict is over time, the overspray will cake on the plastic hardening it, possibly cracking and puncturing it. At best it will flake off and of course fall on your paint job. I cannot fathom why anyone would pay 150K for a "professional" paint booth. ALLLLL of that being said. I am NOT a professional painter. But i did stay the night in a Holiday inn express.

When I was looking at getting one this size a couple years ago, it was just over $1,000. That’s a lot cheaper than I could buy a metal enclosure of that size, plus I would have needed a foundation. In my case, I have room for the enclosure, but not enough that I want to permanently loose it to a building that I would only need occasionally.

It's for people who want to throw it on the yard for a day and paint, those who don't have space for another structure. It also eliminates need for any permits. Most cities would view a metal one as a carport at the very least.
Nice job keep up the good work.
Great job sir 😊
Hey Brian, how do you like that Finish 1 clear? That was the main thing I could find in the Austin area and I ended up really liking it
Loved this video with real world stuff, was thinking that if we lay some clear construction plastic on the top and let it hang over the sides a bit , that would shed water incase of rain,
Nice. Looks like it would work best in a shed, barn, or shop. Maybe outside if perfect weather. Nice paint job and fix for rain drops. Unless I missed it, was there a reason for leaving dents in lower door of honda? Thanks for the content and effort
I considered buying one a while ago. I'm not a body fender guy but I think one of those has a place when you need a place to paint and you don't have the space for a permanent structure. The prices jumped up significantly. I'll wait til they drop a bit.
Now if only I could get my paint to come out like that! :)

Well now you know how it is to paint in MN outside lol. Atleast you had a mobile paint booth. Gonna look into getting one.
Been reading Amazon reviews on these they good for low usage one guy said he was using it 2-3 times a month after 9-10 months started to come apart in the corners. Overall, it's probably safer than using a garage, or getting the wife upset with the smell. Even with fans in a garage somehow the smell gets into the house. I was wondering about installing a dryer inline with the compressor. I have seen water come out of a compressor line if you're in high humidity area.
I started out in 05 at a boat factory used valspar gelcoat to refinish after fiberglass repairs... I tell ya that gelcoat is some thick stuff.... slot different than automotive paint. But I learnt about fiberglass repairs and it was an experience... now guys doin that job at same plant make $25 n hr.... back then I was at $9..... lol times have changed
So funny I'm trying to buy 1 and bam a video comes out.
Way to recover, true professional.

You could possibly use those top tie downs to clip a clear plastic or white tarp over the top so it blocks water but not light.
Great review, was thinking of one as I don't have room for a permanent spray booth. How do you run the air hose into the booth? good that it has tie downs uptop to maybe secure to beams in garage just incase of deflation.
