In the video I talked about a woodworker named Isak Stålenhag. The family is our friends and our beloved husky Malva was born at their place and her parents Garlic and Luna still lives there. They live about 2 hours from us. We recently learned that Isaks workshop burned to the ground If someone that reads this has a spare dollar and want to help an incredible person that contributes so much to the woodworking community , we wanted to share this fundraiser his friends started for them to help them rebuild his workshop. This is the fundraiser: gofund.me/5bb6796d If you are interested in learning about all the aspects of building with timber, Isaks instagram is a wealth of information: instagram.com/isakstalenhag/

I would like to say I’m 58 years old and I’ve never seen anyone with your skills. You could come to the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee and make a million dollars a year building log homes for people. Very impressive sir. The tool that you’ve been talking about we call a log scribbing tool with a level. It looks like what you’ve got but a lot bigger. Your skill with an axe is beyond anyone I’ve ever seen. Your little boy is so cute and growing fast. And everyone loves your the little smiles your wife makes. You are a blessed man. I know you must spend hours editing but to me it would be better to see it as it really is. Which ever one is fine with me. Your friend steve Ezell

Matthias, you make me even more proud of my heritage. My grandfather and grandmother came over to the states from Stockholm. They eventually made it out West here where I live. My father spoke fluent Swedish and all my uncle's as well. My father work with wood on the side and his woodcarving skills were amazing, plus we had the most beautiful yard on the block with fruit trees, vegetables and flowers for my mother. I miss hearing my father and Uncles sit around our table talking of old times. Hearing your voice has been a blessing. God bless you, your dear wife and son.💖💖💖 Don't ever lose those skills and values you have. Your children will carry on what you teach them.

In English, we use 'chamfer' or 'chamfered edge' as a general term for 45 degree angled corners, but for an architect or civil engineer, the correct term is 'arris'. Most concrete beams utilise them, or else the corners would be easily broken off. Great editing by the way. You have become such an expert.

I just have to say this...You said that people with more experience building a home etc would probably be scratching their heads at the way you do it, that they would do better you assume..Well, I laughed at this comment. You are totally NOT giving yourself credit..Omgoodness, You sir are an unbelievable builder! Your talent is over the roof!! Trust me, people are scratching their heads, I agree, but not at your mishaps, or lack of knowledge doing one thing or another...they scratch because your a fantastic builder!! You do this with no paper in front of you, it’s all in your head and done the old way..the hard way! I mean my husband builds this and that, nothing like a home, you have blown him away at your raw talent! So do ever sell yourself short..keep doing what you do!! Listen, if I had a choice to buy a little home, I saw 2 same size same everything, only difference is one is manufactured, the other is built with one mans hands (yours) using regular tools like you use etc. I would choose your house!! I bet most of us here would want your home! :) Ok...I’ll return later to finish
