    I have been looking at this same device, thanks for the instructional video. A thought for moving trailers: having the trailer tongue elevated might not be much of a problem as long as your remaining on pavement or similarly level ground. But, if you travel across broken or hilly terrain, like a wood lot, you might invest in a drop hitch. A drop of 6, 8 or even 10 inches will allow you to keep the bucket that much higher off the ground while still keeping the rear of the trailer closer to remaining level. Allowing the bucket to pass over any obstruction (rock, stumps) or severe terrain changes (ditches, creeks) should be much easier than having to pick your way thru any potential points of contact. Every inch of drop will keep the bucket that much more off the ground, while keeping the rear of the trailer closer to remaining parallel to the ground so it doesn’t drag or dig in. 🫡

    I dont use this product, but did weld a receiver on my bucket. To make moving trailers easier with it, I found using an 8" drop hitch really helps.

    For bucking wood like you mentioned, you should think of getting a set of pallet forks. Way better than using the bucket with a chain. I am a big fan of the Artillian version that I bought!

    Yep, BX1500 is a light weight. The small forks I use work well and can almost instantly dump the load. Nothing like feeling the Wheels come off the ground - omg......

    the fit and finish on these are really nice, I've got one on my Massey. i think, particularly on these sub-compact tractors, you've got to squeeze every bit of functionality you can out of them (god knows, you paid enough for them)

    a drop receiver would get the ball lower and make hooking the trailer up easier i think, the hooks would make dragging a log for firewood easy, looks like a handy device

    Nice setup from JU Fabworks. It looks great on your bucket and very practical too. Harbor Freight has an 8" Drop Hitch Mount for about $35. Allows you to lower your hitch ball height to a reasonable level. Dan

    I have the exact set up on my bx bucket. Thankfully mine bolted right up without and issues. I use a Harbor freight dual hitch extender. I have it upside down so it drops down then I drop hitch attached to that. Now my ball is almost sitting on the bottom of my bucket. I have a 4 x 8 trailer that the back was dragging on the ground or my front bucket was dragging the ground every time I moved it because the hitch was too high in the air so using the two drop hitches together completely fix that issue.

    yes, ............but no. I have the older BX1500 with fixed bucket. This unit(all in one) offers the same features with about the same installation time as other American Made parts which I believe are as good and less expensive. Theirs in comparison: 2x Chain hooks - Fixed height for individual Buckets to clear Top roll. 2x Backer Brackets - (with Shackle loops if desired) 1x Quick attach/detach Hitch bracket - (Clamps to Blade area of bucket when needed) *Total installation: 4 holes drilled. 1 Twist clamp-down (for removable hitch mount) *** I prefer the hitch mount low and the bucket off the ground, especially on rougher terrain. It is nice to have choices for individual needs and American made quality. Enjoyable Review overall and nice product, Thank you.

    4WD is a must when moving anything heavy on that hitch. When you are pushing the loader limits, the rear tires have almost zero weight/traction and it's really easy to have a runaway situation with no way to stop. Just stating the obvious that can be easily forgotten.

    you need to have at least 800 lbs of ballast on the rear to use the FEL safely..... sounds like u got no ballast. gonna damage ur front axle doing stuff like that, u need the ballast to get the weight off the front axle and back onto the rears, theres a reason the rear tires are massive and the fronts are tiny

  • @puntacanaman1

    @puntacanaman1

    4 ай бұрын

    @@schlomoshekelstein908 That certainly makes a huge difference, to a point. A little BX can only safely move a reasonable sized load around on the FEL. I have a 400 pound ballast on my B2301 3pth when I'm moving heavy stuff around and I still can have my rear tires sliding around a bit. If you need 800 pounds of ballast, I hope it's not on a BX. They just aren't very rugged (only an 1800 pound tractor) and holding the rear end down with excessive counterweight doesn't take much weight off the front axle. It is still heavily overloaded.

    Great video! I'm waiting on delivery of my BX23S and I'm already buying accessories for it. Crazy, right? Just ordered this and can't wait to install it along with all of the BXPanded stuff. By the way, my browser automatically added the coupon code 'GWT' for an extra 5% off. I didn't even put it in. I guess it's for Good Works Tractors maybe? Anyway, I'm super excited to get to wreaking havoc on all the privet hedges, flower beds, bushes, etc. on my property with this little beast of a tractor. Thanks for the heads up and God bless!

    Not to be sounding cheap, but that’s a lot of $ for that. I would purchase if the price fit the product. You gave me a great idea to just weld some hooks a tubing to my bucket.

  • @TheMindfulHomestead

    @TheMindfulHomestead

    5 ай бұрын

    Not for nothing, but US MADE hooks, tubing, plate, and hardware aren't going to run you much less than that, and if you don't know how to weld (or don't own a welder) this is a no-brainer. If you're buying Chinese hooks and steel, you're going to drop the cost drastically. But at what cost?

  • @odf8782
    @odf8782 Жыл бұрын

    its a neat idea but not for me. If you keep drilling more and more holes into your bucket or start lifting or towin large things with it, over time its going to start either bending or tweaking your loader from the stress. Yes its metal but metal can get tired over time and loose its strength. You got to remember these are small lighter loaders that are meant to do little jobs like moving dirt, snow and firewood. They aren't meant to move around a holiday trailer. Also to be honest it makes the tractors look messy. Just my opinion.

  • @TheMindfulHomestead

    @TheMindfulHomestead

    A full bucket of dirt weighs more than the tongue of our boat. If that stresses the loader arms, then the dirt does even more damage. With regards to looks, my tractor is a tool. If something makes it more versatile, then looks be damned, I’m going to take the versatility over looks.

    It is a little high. Someone recommended picking up an 8” drop hitch for lifted trucks. I like the idea of a bolted receiver more than a clamp, even though the clamps do work just fine.
