Minecraft is all about thinking outside the box. Occasionally I see videos where I go: huh, I never thought you could use that block that way. I thought it was only intended for xyz, and the concept was in front of my nose for years.

@echoplots8058 , well, you’re partly right, Minecraft (mostly with content from mods) has such an assortment of its own capabilities and materials that can fascinate us for years. But I’ve seen enough sandboxes, programming languages, etc. and I’ll say that Minecraft has a lot of weird limitations that only force you “thinking *inside* the box”. Of course, some of the limitations can be explained by the code (and the source code is still closed at all, what is there to protect like that?..) and the Java limitations, but… do we really have to spend so much time of our short lives on so many tricks when there are so many good sandboxes/art programs? Everything is good in its own way, but that’s not what I’m talking about now. Studying all these tricks will probably take longer than some really useful school subjects (imagine the current average student who gets a bad grade in TNT duping…). ;D Every time I watch someone build complex mechanisms, computers in Minecraft, Terraria, etc., it seems to me that they are suffering in vain, as if writing *serious* projects in some fun slow/unreadable esoteric languages. I’m not even talking about my 0-10 FPS when I was still playing Java Minecraft, how much would it freeze now after 7 years of disbalance-quantity-over-quality updates? More likely, I just forgot how to have fun. But I still decided to remind everyone of other ways to think outside the box. And the ways don’t end with these, of course. I once started collecting a whole list (simple TXT) of mind-expanding/fun works, please do not consider them advertising… I tried cutting the link in a bunch of ways while KZread just doesn’t allow me to publish a comment without hiding it, so… here’s something to view the TXT on Google Drive: 1jrhkC7HA-oGpLdcbjD3zMYEsnZrAxGwT

That house in the thumbnail is nostalgic. I distinctly remember the smell of the books. I had all four (three original books and a fourth revised edition). I remember trying some of the circuits then realizing some didn’t work because I was playing an un-updated version of Xbox 360 Minecraft.
This is still my go-to house in every creative or survival world I play.
Dude, I remember struggling to build this in my old PE world, during the golden age. Good times, man. Also the mistake with stone and wood, absolute classic.

The fact that someone in my minecraft world built this exact house and now i'm seeing it built in videos 4 years later is something else
Insane that you only have 1.5K subscribers pushing content at this quality
I have all 4 of them! The green one genuinely helped me when i first started as i had no idea how to even craft. Such nostalgic books. I built the house from the blue book aswell but it went up in flames 😥
i remember building this house when i was a kid on my old xbox360, time flies
2:30 love that tour of the house!
I legitimately enjoyed building this house over and over again when I was 8
I did this exact build like 6 years ago, still one of my favorite things to make
I remember building the first house in a server with a bunch of my friends and I lived there with some of them. this was way back in like 2016-2017. I miss those days
The building style and choice of blocks is so nostalgic for me. I feel like an old man now. Help my back hurts
It would be interesting if Mojang released an annual version with build ideas for each update
9:16 is going a rampage🎉🎉😈
man i still have all 4 books crazy how the games evolved from when i was a kid. still play to this day when i’m possessed by the urge to build a random ass kingdom. games come so far from those plank cobble combos. so many colorations and possibilities it’s insane. i’m still figuring out some of the new mechanics i’m so old when it comes to this game
I build that old wooden house in my survival world for nostalgia purposes. So cool that someone else had the same idea
The wooden house is the main house I always build and it will forever be my choice of styled home, and i always upgrade it by making it look better and more detail
you know, back when i was a kid my parents bought me book of "minecraft" constructions. It was pretty fun (and hard to remake) but i remember making that house thousands and thousands of times this was pretty nostalgic, thank you.
That would be the best damn house on the server decade ago
I honestly have taken a lot of inspiration from this book iwhen I was new to minecraft. I've built a lot of floating islands, rollercoasters and throne rooms but I've improved them (did I really back then?) with my creativity.
that ending clip was insane! you did a great job on this vid!
Did anyone notic he had two diamond sowrd stacked
I remember when I was in elementary school we would all get excited about the book fair and I remember they would sell these there. I think I had 3 of them if i remember correctly, nostalgic times.
8:29 matpat be cryin in the corner
that lore slapped so damn hard; 11/10
Time to bring out the three horsemen
I love the Minecraft Handbooks, 2015 of course, i got the redstone handbook only tho so gonna buy the others soon. Very nostalgic this.
This is edited so well! Great job
I remember buying these at a book fair and staying up late Friday night adding all the builds to my world ❤
8:23 I believe the reason why the dispenser faces that way is to give the minecart to the player to place down. I dont know about these days cause ive never tried it but minecarts didnt dispense onto rails back then
I literally built this exact house in so many of my survival worlds back in the day
Your underated also 3:26 was XD
I liked the bridge and the ship
Aaahh, as the founding fathers intended...
I had all four and built this exact house with a floating island house over it from the handbook plus a door from the redstone
I remember trying to build this, but my version didn’t have connecting stairs yet. So the roof looked weird. Good times.
Saw the thumbnail and immediately recognised the iconic house! I have the book, and I remember building all the structures by following the instructions religiously when I was younger. When it was done, I always customised the builds way too much until they looked worse 😭 Great video, truly a trip down memory lane :)

*places a torch on the door* “that’s a thing?” He said while having two diamond swords in one stack. That’s pretty funny
Amazing! The Mojang guide for building isn't actually too bad by the looks of it, hahaha
Can I suggest an idea that you could do with these builds? I was thinking you could renovate these with your own taste and what blocks YOU would use. Other than that, I am impressed with the bridge and house.

Yo, i remember that book. I Still have it. Crazy enough i used that one house tutorial to always build my house until last year where i learned how to build my own. It wasn't really accurate considering i was younger and too stupid to understand it then, but still recognizable enough. I also used that one island castle (which i build on land actually) to make my kingdom that was based on attack on Titan back then. (Younger me also build a wall around the village i made my castle near too lol). I also remember building that one water temple as a way to make a goofy drowned empire(young elementary me was to invested in wars back then). I was originally gonna buy the other books too but abandoned that thought. Maybe one day I'll buy them.
