As an AI engineer myself, consider this as an absolute joke .... deep distributed technology stack exists like nvlink, infiniband to reduce distributed latency on multi node clusters. AI is all about latency minimisation. even thinking about switching infiniband over a p2p distributed network of devices is an absolute joke. Forget 5G, 6G 7G it's never possible. Infiniband latencys are 400GB/s and the AI training intense to use Max performance of it while training any sort of AI models on a distributed node

honestly, idea is feasible. If the user can decide whether they want the website to let use their computing power, or see ads instead of it. And about adblockers, many websites these days will prompt you to disable adblocker and not let you access the page. So it is viable

I was going to say this is a waste of time but I guess in the end it's a net positive for audience and the participant. Actually I am not sure if companies are really searching for ad monetisation alternatives. I think it's more about finding more subtle ways of showing ads. And the idea might have a better scope if it's used like a tool for developers, like distributed gpu computation.

great that school kids are thinking in that direction .. but the difference in scale of openai's gpu and my phone gpu is just gigantic.. you cant compare the two. Also these models require a lot of ram Llama 7b takes 8gb ram if i remember correctly .. sure openai's models are a lot larger .. and also after that SPEED , sam altman will commit suicide waiting for computations to complete.
