Initially (traditionalist thinking?), the speedometer on the column seemed wrong, but the brass cup hose clamped to the brass column looked spot on. I'm glad I don't go to roadster shows anymore to see the trailer queens who never get driven. This brings me back to the days (in my old rusty 66 Chevelle) when I used what I could find! Good to see your mini-me too!

Love your dash!!! Looks FANTASTIC! Thanks for not cutting up a perfect "Henry" dash! On the "CUP" leave the handle as-is... Put vinyl over the radiator clamp. Run wires thru copper/brass tube on collum. What a conversation piece! Everyone will say "HEY! Look at THIS!"

Thanks. The 32 Ford is actually an Edsel Ford design, not Henry. If it was up to Henry, we’d still be driving black Model T’s.

I stand corrected... The '32 is the most beautiful body style ever (IMHO). But only one year? Maybe the thought was "How can you beat this? Let's let it be unique and move on with a new body in '34". I had missed the dash repair vid, awesome repair job! Henery... Opps, I mean Edsel would be proud!

Loving the upholstery theme! For a voltmeter I used a voltage indicator LED. It changes colour from red 10-12V to green 13.5V and above indicating your charging status. I used dual temp gauges with my Flathead so i had no room in the gauge panel. I just drilled a hole and installed like a jewel light now I can tell what my system voltage is by the colour. There not too expensive off eBay Gammatronix 5mm LED 12v Battery level / Alternator Charge monitor indicator

I have had fast cars before and slow cars before. And a lot of the older guys would tell me "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow" But I can see you blasting gears and rubber in an old Pontiac Tempest or Buick skylark{my personal fave} or some other old early sixties muscle car. I can also see Lux in a couple more years, in his car-seat. yelling "SHIFT" at the top of his lungs!😃

@@LGKustoms they use to put in 1/8 not and a bushing 1/8 to 1/4. Then took them out. BECAUSE the sender was faulty so they took them out. Made it separate so you could send the sender back only. I agree it sucks but they don’t care. It was way better when you could buy a COMPLETE gauge

I, too, own a ‘32 and have pondered fabricating a door to go under the tunnel that goes from the dash to the gauges. I’m thinking a piano hinge forward with a hardware store latch back by the gauges. You could mount a fuse panel there or a couple switches. Whatever. You do it and I’ll take notes 😅

  • @LGKustoms

Really lovin the cup speedo mount. But l'd go with electronic speedo so you can hide the wire in the handle and route it thru the column. Also check out Autometer Antique Biege gauges (they come with senders).

Guage panel looks great. Yeah that no sender nonsense is ridiculous. I suspect it’s due to shrinkflation, just not include the sender and keep the price the same?🤷‍♂️ I’m with you on the electronic senders, easier install and to keep neat and tucked in.

@@LGKustoms I don’t think they want to price these gauges at $100 so they pulled the senders to be sold separately. It’s like the bag of Oreos staying the same price but 50 grams lighter. They are nice looking gauges though. Stewart Warner used to be made in Peterborough Ontario they still had a plant there in the 90s / early 2000s. I don’t know if they are one of the companies bought up by Holley. If they are it makes sense, a lot of weird stuff has been going on with the companies they bought up like Mallory ignition part numbers are now MSD products etc.

What a crock of shit. Who would expect to have to read all the specifications (clear to the bottom), for a product, before you purchase it. Especially up until now the sending unit always came with the gauge. I don't know but I wonder if Moon or Auto Meter does the same damn thing. I am glad I can't afford new gauges because unlike you I live in the states so I have better access. I would still be very pissed of. I guess companies think we are well to do. That is my rant. Sorry that happened.
