Get Optimal Welding to tune it. Should be able to see over 500whp with his tuning (the way it sits). If you have access to a dyno that's even better! Definitely looking forward to more videos on this truck.

If it's in the budget do air suspension. Honestly digging how it looks now with the height and wheel/tire combo. You could have the best of both worlds. I'd like to go the route eventually.

The film on the engine is a factory coating that was applied. Over the years it yellows and starts to peel and look like crap.

Pretty sure that big plug you thought was for a plow is a jumper cable plug in. I’ve seen the same on another truck

You got 1 hell of a deal on that thing. I'm in PA too and near me atleast that thing would be going for $15k easy. It would be $20k is it had higher miles. Lol. Typical Dodge rust.

Mine was cracked in my old 3rd gen. The owner before me put jb weld on it to cover it up. Never gave me any issues but scared the shit out of me when I saw it for the first time.

That film is from engine dress up that these 2nd hand car dealers/auctions spray all over everything to make the truck look shiny. My 05 has it all over the motor and it eventually flakes off

Just leave it how it is. I bought my 5.9 in 06 brand new and have left it stock except for efi live tune. That’s all I have done and I have had no issues with it. Like none at all. I don’t drive fast I tow heavy things almost every other day it’s a manual drive can’t really complain. I’ve seen all these upgrades that end up failing. 🤦‍♂️. Well that’s my penny. Nice color truck also. 😁

have you try cleaning it with a red scotch brite and some aluminum wheel cleaner? worked really well for me now its all grey like factory
