In today's episode, we're getting started on the teardown of the M96 (M96.04) engine out of my 2001 Porsche Carrera 4. The purpose of this project is to build the most reliable Porsche engine for extensive track usage.
We also break down each and every reliability concern for the M96 / M97 engines, and exactly what we're going to be doing to my car to ensure that those concerns are not a problem!

Yes, there is. LN Engineering makes it. Kind of overkill, in my opinion.
great mechanical skills, and on top of that doing it with style (jacket). Assuming your 2001 engine is pretty much like mine 996/1999? I have 68k miles on it. Amazing to see the complete tear down and how the engine looks since, I cannot see much of the engine by looking at it. I am now even more terrified by looking at that spreadsheet LOL!!! IMS and the bore scoring now? And I was only worrying about the IMS, to now also worry about scoring? Anyways, looking forward to continuing learning. Great content! Julio

Hey Julio! Our cars are very similar internally, aside from a few minor differences. Like I said in the video, the spreadsheet is not meant to freak you out! It's just a visual to help give context on everything I'm doing to my car. Seeing all of the issues compiled in a single list is freaky, but they're all few and far between. No stress!
