Building a Buggleskelly Diorama - Baseboards, Scenery, Figure Painting - Oh, Mr Porter!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
As I've started attending model shows with my shop 'Buggleskelly Station', I thought I'd better create a portable diorama to showcase my 3D printed models. Here's a step by step guide to building Buggleskelly Station, based on the Will Hay comedy 'Oh, Mr. Porter!', from baseboard construction to figure painting.

The models shown are available to order at www.buggleskellystation.com where you'll also find my events diary.

very very impressive work
Absolutely brilliant diorama.
Awesome build Tom...I love building/creating rail scenes...'Oh, Mr. Porter!' is a great movie.
Hi Tom I’m a late comer to your channel. I’m not a model maker or railway enthusiast but I am a big Will Hay fan. My Dad used to go rabbiting with Graham Moffatt when he lived in Braybrooke. I grew up with these films as a staple due to my Dads connection. They are all wonderful but Oh Mr Porter is a true classic and to see your wonderful models bringing it all back to life makes me very happy - so thank you.

Thank you :) we unveiled a plaque on the Swan in Braybrooke a couple of years ago for Graham.
Fantastic diorama
All I could think of when you was doing the plants was.. You’re wasting your time. That’s a beautiful diorama.
"You're wasting your time", great looking layout from a great film.

Thanks John :)
Aww, that is lovely! Some years ago I took a few disabled people to Cliddesden Station site (after they had viewed the film) in the Day Centre minibus to see what remained. On return to the Day Centre I had to fill in the journey details for the local authority jobsworths; and in the "Destination box" at the top of the log sheet I wrote "Buggleskelly". It never got queried! I have watched Oh Mr Porter countless times and it always makes me laugh out loud.
This is an excellent video! Short, yet sweet. Great job!
Tom. This is amazing. Your skill is impressive and the result is stunning.

Looking forward to this looks interesting.
Tom this is a really entertaining and informative video. You’ve put some effort in here! The final shots comparing the film to your diorama are moving to be honest. Loved it. Well done
Hi Tom re signal some did operate upside now so to speak.😊
Great to see your work in action, thanks Tom
Tom, this is brilliant. Thanks for sharing your amazing skill and ideas.
YOU are amazing ! I loved that film too, the characters are all "characters" if you get my drift . the old man for instance what a man.the three together soooooo funny .
This really is a great film and your techniques and ideas are greatly appreciated Tom. I was captivated and will use your ideas. Who'd of thought so much could be achieved in such a small area. Marvellous. Thank you

Thanks Paul, glad you found it interesting.
Superb stuff Tom, it makes me want to build one of these Buggleskelly scenes. You have done marvellous work on all aspects of the modelled scene. Though I would like it as a working feature for myself on a branch line scenario piece. Pat yourself on the back for making the diorama, and this video of BS - SRNI from Will Hay's film Oh Mr Porter. Thanks for sharing, Cheers, Jay, Belfast, NI.

@BuggleskellyStation NP, credit to when, where, what, and who, credit is due.
Fantastic video, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Particularly as I love all things rail and Oh Mr Porter is one of my all time favourite films. I was intrigued as to how you got the characters done, as they are unmistakable representations.

Thanks, just a lot of adjusting the faces copying photos of the actors. They took some time to get right.
Beautiful work. :)
Oh well - maybe it _could_ do with a coat of paint! Great work. This is something I've thought of doing for ages, I just never had the confidence. I love the attention to all the little details.

Go for it, the nice thing about Buggleskelly is you can get away with things looking messy or broken, the more run down the better!
