Building a back wall on a metal carport.

We decided we needed to fill in the back wall of the carport so snow doesn't keep getting in and to add shelves for storage.

Use a plumb bob or make one and hang it from the center of the arch up top and it will mark your exact center for you ;) Thanks for the video, I'm getting ready to convert my 20x20 carport into a small shop.

Wow! Thank you for this! I've been wondering how I'd do this to my carport! I'm glad I decided to search for this!

I'm still unsure about securing the 4x4 to that flimsy brace in the center. And did you toe nail the self tapping screws to that flimsy brace?

Without the poles going into the ground, how do you keep the back middle pole from shifting back and forth over the years? I noticed you wedged it in, but the ground may give with rain fall creating a gap. Any insight that maybe wasnt show in video?

I used two SPT 4x4s in the ground 24" and framed my wall, put T1-11 on it in 2010, just covered that with metal rather than paint again. I have added some cross blocks to give screws added grip.

Mine has gable ends since 2010, and I added a 3 foot wide over hang in front. My driveway slants from side to side, 22" in 22 foot width.

Nice job but you are driving me crazy with all that debris right under where you are working with a power saw.

The entire wall is fastened to the carport by the self tapping screws at the top of each 4x4?

I later added blocks that sandwiched the uprights. The wall is held to the uprights on both sides.

How many shelves or how much weight can you hang from the walls of a car port?

I have no idea. I added a couple after building the wall but I not an engineer and have no idea how much weight the wall can handle. Thanks for watching!

I just ordered one from united metal buildings, they put it up and deliver for free, and for an added price they will put the side walls, and end walls
