"Check tire pressure. Properly inflated tires will give you the best mileage." Inflates tires to near max pressure stated on the sidewall of the tire instead of GM rating for that size tire on that vehicle. IOW, improperly, OVERLY inflated. Also, could have converted to TPI with secondhand, EBay parts on a budget and gotten the mileage and power increases they got for the money with all the gimmicky stuff they did that basically amounted to normal maintenance.... No reason to use all those high dollar fluids on a sub 150 hp cruiser. A drag car that you are trying to eke every last bit of power out of it, sure, but not this.

Absolutely, the pressure number on the tire is the Max pressure rating, nothing more. It’s all about the weight of the vehicle on the tires. Use the door sticker. There are morons everywhere running around overinflated where I live. A recent customer brought me a car with the complaint of “weird tire wear.” The tires were smooth in the center.

Ahhh I had a 91 305 TBI. My daily Driver loved it but I seen that Air induction not a fan. Lol I stuck with t the Edelbrock air cleaner. I think mine did pretty good with just a single fan setup the only thing that was a pain is just a air condenser is in the way of that radiator. I just threw a 180 thermostat in there🤷 I definitely also love i just had the 273 posi axle. Diff Ratio plays a vital role. Man. The car wasn't fast unless you advance it to 4 degrees lmaol I love the miles per gallon out of it and I love the fact that I could celebrate like crazy if I didn't want to care about MPG it was more of I'm driving a 3rd gen with a great body style and I'm listening to some 80s music and I'm chilling. There are times where I'll take one bolt off behind the cat and rotate the intermediate pipe above the cat and tighten it where I just have it dumped boy what a loud TBI. But I really wouldn't recommend it on that highway speeds because I noticed that it acts like a manual transmission and drags when you let off the gas but around the city you'll get noticed lol

Those engines really like between 1 and 4 degrees over base timing for best performance. ACCEL Ignition Control Module 35370 should be used for these applications, avoid ACCEL 35362. They are both listed as compatible but 35370 is based on GM's performance module and 35362 is based on GM's economy module. These modules have different latencys that are taken into account by the ECM. Use of the economy module will result in VERY poor performance in these vehicles. Additionally, if you are upgrading the ignition system without gapping the plugs wider you are wasting your time. The best mod for the money on those throttle bodys is to double up the gasket under the injectors - raising them above the bores and allowing more CFM's to enter the engine. Swapping to the 350 injectors is also a worthwhile mod. Some have modified the intake to work with the 454 throttle body as well. There are still short tube headers available for third gens. I like the 2460HKR by Hooker, but there are plenty of options. I would recommend replacing the factory manifolds and exhausts as soon as possible as it made the most noticeable difference on my 305 TBI Firebird. Just remember that if you are pushing for 350 power you need an exhaust to accommodate that. The factory rocker arms have a tolerance of +.1 to -.1. Replacing them with literally any reputable aftermarket will improve performance, even if they are also stamped rockers. The H.O. 305 heads should be considered for any third gen owner trying to get the most out of their 305 as they flow much better, even without porting and valve work. Look for castings ending in 416 or 601 at the scrap yard. They can often be found on mid 80's trucks with 305s. The H.O. 305 also featured the 929 cam that was originally released in the 350HP 327 Chevelle if you like the retro sound and good low end to mid-range power. If you are looking at aftermarket cams don't go over .48 lift unless you have made major alterations or the valve will contact the cylinder wall.

I've been wondering what relatively basic things I can do to it to improve fuel economy and make the engine more efficient. I ended up going with Hawk's Performance parts for most of my pieces. Good PROM chip, new Accel ignition components, Hooker shorty headers leading into a 3" system, Aluminum driveshaft, some K&N filters, 1.6 ratio roller rockers, a 3-port catch can, good brake pads, stainless braided lines, and some nice 17 inch aftermarket IROC-style rims with Goodyear rubber on them. Works great, and gets really good mileage both combined and on the highway (19/27, respectively). Stops pretty nice too.
